Last night’s Oprah interview with Rihanna revealed a lot of things, but nothing more shocking then her current feelings towards Chris Brown. If you haven’t seen the hour-long interview from Oprah’s Next Chapter, the Talk That Talk singer said:
“I think he was the love of my life and I see that he loved me the same way.”
Before I begin, I’d like to make it known that I’m not one of those people who thinks RiRi should hate Chris Brown. I’ve never been one of those people.

I don’t think Chris is a monster, a bad person, or even a woman-beater, for that matter. Sure he beat a woman, but I like to think he made a mistake. With that said; I may be wrong, Chris could be a monster and a bad person, but let’s just assume that he’s not. Let’s assume he is, how Rihanna puts it, the love of her life and they are working on their friendship. Then what? Exactly! It’s time for Rihanna to put her foot down and either get back with Chris or walk away for good.
If Rihanna continues to agree with the secret rendezvous, private text messages and a love that they struggle to hide, it’s only going to hurt her in the end. It’s one thing to love in private, out of the media’s spotlight, but it’s another thing to keep love a secret altogether.
After watching last night’s interview, I feel like Rihanna is torturing herself. She’s swimming in a sea of toxic love with no arm floaties while the lifeguard is off duty. One wrong move and it’s over. Not just for her, but everyone involved: Chris Brown and her fans.
Rihanna admitted that she and Chris are working on their friendship. They text and see each other from time to time when no paparazzi are around. This leads me to believe that most of the rumors are true. The rumors that say Chris was spotted at Rihanna’s house in L.A., the couple kissed at a bar, or one of the other hundred secrets that surface daily.
Add in the subtweets and all it’s doing is feeding RiRi’s heartbreak and unhappiness. Who cries over their ex-boyfriend from almost 4 years ago?
Last night’s interview showed us all that Rihanna still loves Chris and they need to get back together or end it. If it’s because the world doesn’t want them to be together, that’s dumb. No one else is responsible for Rihanna’s happiness, and if they are working on their friendship, allowing him to be with Karrueche isn’t helping anything. Not Karrueche, Not Chris and definitely not Rihanna.
Right now, Chris is the luckiest man on Earth. He has two extremely beautiful women, who are so in love with him they just ignore the other woman in the picture. It’s time for him to make a choice. He must choose someone.
While people will surely talk if Rihanna gets back with Chris Brown, they’ll eventually stop. Eventually they will get used to who she loves and why she loves him. They always do.
So I urge Rihanna to take a stand. Either demand that Chris leaves Karrueche, or let them love one another without being a distraction.
