Even though he’s had a rough couple of months, Justin Bieber has finally come out on top, according to the latest reports.
The “Hold On Tight” singer and his mentor, Usher, were facing a lawsuit after being accused of stealing their 2010 song “Somebody To Love,” but have allegedly won the $10 million case.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the dynamic music duo allegedly got the case dismissed after a judge ruled that the plantiffs’ (Devin Copeland & Mareio Overton) 2008 song couldn’t be “reasonably construed as being substantially similar.”
The site reports it was found that:
“Although the accused songs have some elements in common with Plaintiffs’ song, their mood, tone, and subject matter differ significantly.”
While Justin is probably off somewhere celebrating the win, Selena Gomez was just served yesterday in relation to the Biebs’ paparazzi assault case from May 2012.
The former Disney Channel star was dating Justin at the time of the incident, which is why she will be questioned.
A source revealed to E! News:
“Selena has been ordered to appear on April 23, 2014, to be deposed in Los Angeles.” She will be asked about “anything she observed before, during, and after the May 2012 incident with Duran and Bieber.”
The source also listed some other topics she’ll be asked about including: her “relationship with Justin, then and now,” “if she ever witnessed any use of Justin taking controlled substances,” and “if she had seen any episodes of violence or anger involving Justin.”
They’d like to find out information regarding “conversations she had with Justin concerning the Duran episode and any other legal proceedings.”
That has to be super annoying for Selena, seeing as they’re not together anymore, but things are still looking up for the 21-year-old triple threat as reports that she bought a new $3 million Calabasas home have surfaced.

Real estate sources tell TMZ, the deal closed last week — Selena threw down roughly $3 million for a 5-bedroom 7,200 sq. ft. Calabasas mansion, located minutes away from the Kardashian empire in Hidden Hills. We’re told Selena didn’t have many demands while house shopping — but she refused to budge on one thing … the home could NOT be in The Oaks … aka Justin Bieber’s old hood.
Good for Selena, the Biebs’ old hood was a littel uptight anyway. 🙂
