While Rick Ross and Young Jeezy were fighting backstage at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, 50 Cent and Fat Joe were calling a truce on stage.

DETAILS: BEEF BURIED! 50 Cent & Fat Joe Peace It Up!

50 Cent and Fat Joe have had a long history of not liking each other, and the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ rapper even credits himself for the demise of Fat Joe’s rap career.

When it was announced 50 Cent, along with Fat Joe and many other artists, would be scheduled to perform a tribute to Chris Lighty, many wondered how 50 and Joe would be able to grace the same stage.

Well, Philly radio station Hot 107.9 got the inside scoop about what really happened and how 50 and Joe buried their beef.

NEW VIDEO: Fat Joe “Pride N Joy”

Fat Joe explained how Chris Lighty’s death prompted him to call a truce with 50 Cent:

“I came to do the tribute, I knew 50 Cent would be there. But I came like ‘we’re going to do this for Chris’, and while we were there 50 whispered some things in my ear that was gentleman like. He just said the right things man, where you know a handshake [was] involved and that was that. It just took two grown men to just say ‘this is for Chris Lighty, this is for hip-hop, let’s move on with our lives.’”

Fat Joe went on to compare his beef with 50 Cent to the ongoing battle between Israel and Palestine.

Fans will be able to catch the tribute to Chris Lighty next Tuesday, October 9 on BET at 8 p.m. EST.
