Even though the Born This Way singer has nearly 29 million followers – more than any other user of the site – some of her little monsters that account for that milestone, may in actuality be “fake.”

Well not fake per se.

According to NME, Status People (a social media company) has created three categories for Twitter followers: fake, inactive and good. A fake account is an account that is designed solely to follow people or send out spam, and virtually have no followers, but follow lots and lots of people.

Allegedly through research, the company claims that only 29 percent of Gaga’s followers were considered “good,” while the remaining majority are inactive and fake accounts.

Unlike reports that Lady Gaga is recording her upcoming ArtPop album in her birthday suit, let’s hope that this isn’t the naked truth!
