Richardson is the second fastest woman in the world next to Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce with a time of 10.63 seconds. She is currently the front-runner to win in this week’s 200-meter race where she currently has the fastest qualifying time at 22.11 seconds. If she goes on to win gold in Tokyo next month, she’ll be the first American woman to do so since Gail Devers in 1996.

Commentators couldn’t help but talk about the vibrant hair Richardson chose for this competition. She revealed that her girlfriend helped her pick out the color, because it reminded her of how vibrant and colorful Sha’Carri is herself.
3. That Confidence
Track stars are notorious for tooting their horn a bit, and obviously with good reason. Because when you’re about to be the fastest woman on the planet, who wouldn’t brag?
4. That Real
Sha’Carri has all eyes on her right now, and we love the fact that she has remained unapologetically herself. She is giving the media her most authentic self, also known as, THAT REAL all the way from Oak Cliff, Texas. We love to see it.
5. That Tenacity
Above all, Sha’Carri Richardson is that girl because despite her circumstances she continues to show up for herself, her legacy and her family. We’re certain her mother would be proud of her many accomplishments and the accolades to come. Congrats queen!
