New Music Released This Week (September 23rd – September 27th):

1. Chase Atlantic – Doubt It

Source:CHASE ATLANTIC

Today, globally acclaimed genre-bending trio CHASE ATLANTIC announce their fourth studio album, LOST IN HEAVEN, is set to drop November 1st via Fearless Records. Along with the album news, the band has unleashed their vibey new single, “DOUBT IT,” with a psychedelic hybrid visualizer / lyric video. Pulsing with dark alternative R&B vibes, trap beats, and glitchy synths, the track hits hard with the rebellious line, “Put your money where your mouth is, lay it on the counter, rip it open, let me count it.”

The new track release follows the success of their previous album single DIE FOR ME,” a haunting slow jam that garnered over 7 million global streams in its first week and earned spots on 24 New Music Friday playlists. With over 5.5 billion global Spotify streams and counting, CHASE ATLANTIC’s genre-blurring sound continues to dominate. Alt Press described the song as “a Bonnie and Clyde story, saturated in desperate, dramatic love, which plays out against a dreamy, dark alt-pop landscape.”

Having graced the stages of Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and main stage at Reading & Leeds in 2023, CHASE ATLANTIC are about to make serious noise as they set off on a massive North American headline tour. The run, beginning October 16 in Irving, TX, will include must-see stops like Barclays Center in Brooklyn and two nights at LA’s Hollywood Palladium. This week the band also announced dates in Australia and New Zealand. Full tour routing below.

With LOST IN HEAVEN, CHASE ATLANTIC are poised to break boundaries once again, diving deeper into their distinct world of hypnotic melodies, sonic experimentation, and epic live shows.

2. Montell Fish – CHARLOTTE

Source:Montell FIsh

Today, Montell Fish has dropped his brand new album CHARLOTTE via Virgin Music Group – listen on all DSPs HERE. The album includes collaborations with Clams Casino, Alex G, and Daniel Caesar and is co-produced by close collaborator Jacob Portrait (of Unknown Mortal Orchestra). Watch a new compilation of never-before-seen video footage from the last year HERE to celebrate the album’s release. The North American tour in promotion of CHARLOTTE – with support from Kacy Hill and Clip – is currently underway, with new European dates for December recently added. All tickets can be found HERE for purchase.

With the wages of sin and temptation on its mind, “It’s Gonna’ Cost You,” the focus track off CHARLOTTE, is a true stand-out moment, a feverish funk examination about the toll ambition takes. It features some of Fish’s most awesome falsetto shouting, as he quips that he’ll be the “greatest that you’ve ever seen.” It’s profane and sacred, ending with a meditative moment of organ playing.

CHARLOTTE, produced closely with co-collaborator Jacob Portrait (of Unknown Mortal Orchestra), is a raw collection of songs that explore the highs and lows of love, ambition, and self-actualization. It probes deep into themes of memory, attachment, loss, and growth, and the psychology behind all of these human experiences. While Montell wrote the record, the continuation of the trilogy that began with Jamie (2022), Fish read about psychology, memory, and childhood; the ideas of Freud and Jung provided thoughtful stimulation as he crafted songs that explore growth and attachment—romantic and otherwise. Through lyrics relating to love, power, failure, and success – all universal to the human experience– Montell uses these themes to highlight the same feelings and situations he’s experienced since the formulation of Jamie, in regards to his own struggle with leaving his faith, and learning to lose and move on from those who were a part of that old audience, team and online fan base.

CHARLOTTE is a project which saw development across continents, with roots in both New York and Paris, specifically with Paris sessions taking place in acclaimed fashion designer Matthew Williams’ home studio. CHARLOTTE is Montell’s most fully realized project yet, the sound of a generational talent stepping into his power.

The CHARLOTTE tour is currently seeing Montell play his biggest venues to date, performing for his legion of fans across the country alongside Kacy Hill and Clip. The 20+ city trek has been hitting major markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, and Nashville with stops at iconic venues such as The Fonda Theatre, Brooklyn Steel, and House of Blues. Buy tickets HERE. Last week it was announced that he will bring the tour to Europe in December, where he has already sold out night 1 in Amsterdam and added a second date.

3. Sports Team – Condensation

Source:Sports Team

Today, UK band Sports Team released new single, “Condensation,” a rambunctious glossy rock jam off of their upcoming studio record, Boy These Days, a witty and insightful examination of modern life experimenting with a major sonic shift, out February 28 on Bright Antenna Records / Distiller Records. Along with the single, Sports Team released a satirically brilliant music video today, featuring exaggerated recreations of historical figures like Elizabeth I and legendary musicians such as Jerry Lee Lewis.

Alex Rice, Oli Dewdney, Al Greenwood, Rob Knaggs, Ben Mack, and Henry Young, recorded Boys These Days with producer Matias Tellez (Girl In Red, CMAT, Gracie Abrams) in his Bergen Norwegian studio. They spent an extensive period working on the album. The band thrived with a day time recording schedule and outdoor subzero hiking exhibitions which nearly ended in disaster.

As singer Alex Rice puts it, “Condensation” is a “big, sweat-slicked, saucer-eyed song,” carrying an undeniable hip-moving power with whirlwind bass, marching drums and sleek guitar riffs. “If Adam Sandler remade ‘Nymphomaniac,’ this song would play over the credits,” said Rob Knaggs of Sports Team, “We recorded versions with brass bands, and Jools Holland, but it never quite felt right. All came together very quickly in Bergen. It’s the song on the album we’re  most excited to play live.”

Forthcoming record Boys These Days is a witty and insightful examination of modern life, exploring the dissonance of our social media feeds that unleash an endless cycle upon us of porn, tragedy, war, violence, sex, money, inspirational quotes, No narrative. No unifying myth. Just “the churn” as Sports Team term it.

The album also marks a major sonic shift for the renowned British guitar band, amalgamating raucous indie rock, Brit pop, with disparate inspiration from the glossy 80s studio pop of Roxy Music, Elvis Costello, Prefab Sprout, the band share their ability to blend seemingly contradictory imagery and musical elements to create unique worlds that insightfully refracted our times.

By spending an extensive amount of time working in an isolated studio, Sports Team tested out countless ideas including sci-fi-tinged tracks, City Pop experiments and even a divisive electro-clash direction that didn’t make the cut. What prevailed was a singular sound featuring dissonant studio effects, extravagant horn use, anchored by a bright core of pop hooks and sing-along choruses that will propel Sports Team to even bigger heights.

Sports Team have already landed Mercury Prize nominations and top 3 albums. Their innovative and provocative indie rock landed them critical acclaim; meanwhile, they quickly built a reputation through viral moments like warring with The 1975 and cultivating an active WhatsApp fan group–which grew into a massive live following and a predominantly young fanbase. But like all great bands, they did not rest on their laurels and sought sonic exploration outside of their comfort zones.

Sports Team has always been quintessentially British. A quality Americans have ultimately embraced due to the band’s deft ability to satirically poke fun at their dull, suburban English childhoods with universal appeal. Through their attempt to make sense of our times, Sports Team have made an album destined to forge an enduring connection with a wider pool of listeners.

Still packed with hyper-specific references, some very British (have you heard the theme tune to Coronation Street?), or addressing their disdain for the British older generations’ reflections of modern youth with measured admiration for artificial certainty in their views. The band’s purview also now offers commentary on disparate memories and moments in the global consciousness, and many specific to America. What’s more American than Bill Clinton sax and sex skills, explored on opening single “I’m In Love (Subaru),” receiving praises from StereogumFLOODBrooklyn VeganUnder The Radar, and Rolling Stone UK. Elsewhere their lyrics reflect on everything from the Beckham dynasty, and more abstract thoughts about cultural clash, the want for family, the questioning of love, Kerouac-esque loners.

By allowing themselves to write about what they saw every day, Sports Team ended up with a group of tracks that offer us poignant reflections on the daily mayhem around them. Whilst somehow holding onto the wistful teenage memory of what adult life really should be like.

On Boys These Days, Sports Team much like their Brit pop forebears have reframed our modern era whilst sounding dangerous and glamorous. Making them one of the most thoughtful bands in music today and a serious force to be reckoned with on the global stage.

11. Kizz Daniel – Marhaba/We Must

Source:Kizz Daniel

Following an eventful summer of North American festival headline sets at AfroNation Detroit, Toronto’s Afrobeats To The World, and Afro Switch Festival in Calgary, after selling out London’s OVO Arena and the Manchester Academy in May, award-winning global music superstar KIZZ DANIEL is back with two massive new singles titled ‘MARHABA’ and ‘WE MUST’ to continue his all-year-round ‘Vado At 10’ celebrations, marking a decade at the top of afrobeats music. The double A-side drop comes on the heels of two back-to-back Official Nigeria Top 100 chart-topping releases in ‘Showa’ and ‘Twe Twe’, which is also the most streamed song in Nigeria so far this year.

Produced by Billboard chart-topping and platinum-selling musician Ramii (Kid Cudi, Anderson. Paak, Big Sean), ‘Marhaba’ is an unapologetic celebration of success, confidence, and living life on your own terms from Kizz Daniel. Driven by South Asian tablas and West African percussion drums, over which the afrobeats icon exudes a sense of self-assuredness through a blend of bold and playful lyrics, highlighting themes of resilience, independence, and navigating through life’s pressures. The infectious track taps into Kizz Daniel’s journey of staying grounded and defiant, while achieving global success, and also delves into the complexities of fame, enjoying the highs of life, and staying focused.

We Must’ on the other hand sees Kizz Daniel reuniting with frequent collaborators Ay Zed (Davido, DJ Spinall) and Blaisebeatz (Wizkid, Asake, Fireboy DML) to deliver a vibrant afrofusion anthem centered around hustling together with your people, and sharing your successes with them. Over its energetic bass, percussions and synths, Kizz Daniel emphasizes the importance of collective ambition, loyalty, and perseverance on ‘We Must’, while also flexing his versatility with a cheeky rap verse to boot. Thematically, the track encapsulates Kizz Daniel’s spirit of resilience and collaboration, as he urges his listeners to stay focused on their collective dreams despite any challenges.

Kizz Daniel’s inspiration for ‘Marhaba’ came from his time spent in Northern Africa and the Middle East, where the widely used Arabic greeting “Marhaba” resonated deeply with him. The word’s meaning, “Welcome” or “Hello,” influenced the track’s celebratory tone, reflecting the warmth and hospitality he experienced during his visit. For ‘We Must,’ Kizz Daniel initially envisioned a collaboration with a UK rap artist to bring a gritty UK rap and grime vibe, but when delays arose, he decided to take control, delivering the verse himself. This decision not only highlights his adaptability but also allowed him to experiment with a new genre, turning ‘We Must’ into a glorious anthem.

Even As Kizz Daniel celebrates his illustrious decade-long career, the international pop star is not resting on his laurels. He began 2024 with one of the biggest songs in afrobeats, ‘Twe Twe’, topping the Official UK Afrobeats Chart, and charting in the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart Top 10. He followed that up with his TZA EP, which has now garnered 250 million plays online, and its Official Nigeria Top 100 chart-topping single ‘Showa’. All this comes on the back of the success of Kizz Daniel’s 2023 album Maverick, which has amassed over one billion streams, birthing hit tracks like ‘Cough’ featuring Latin pop sensation Becky G, and 2022’s afrobeats song of the year ‘Buga’.

15. allie – Every Dog

Source:Allie - Topic

Today, New York City-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer allie shares her immersive, evocative self-produced sophomore studio album Every Dog out everywhere now via Snack Shack Tracks (Sarah Tudzin, Illuminati Hotties) and Anxiety Blanket Records. The meditative LP is a vulnerable exploration of queer love and one’s self, carefully crafted by the artist who wrote, produced and mixed it herself. On October 4, allie will play the new album in full at Cassette in Ridgewood, Queens with Precious Child and Kid Lake. Tickets are on sale now here.

Plus, Sarah Tudzin (Illuminati Hotties) and allie have launched an all-new podcast, SongDive, which explores all facets of songwriting, music production and audio engineering through a queer, DIY perspective. Listen on all platforms here.

Every Dog is a twenty-seven minute-long, highly-focused collection of sonic portraits, with each song offering uniquely immersive, richly-layered meditations on queer love, isolative depression, Western U.S. road trips, and singing through the pages of a personal journal. The album has proven to be a crucial creative and spiritual outlet for the artist, who says, “‘Every Dog’ highlights different growths I’ve experienced as a songwriter, in the efficacy of both more abstract-leaning and literal-leaning types of storytelling.” Equipped with a renewed sense of self and newfound creative freedom, allie continues, “I felt freer to write about my own experiences and wherever else my imagination took me, worrying less about fitting in with other artist peers, and just wanting to make something that felt fair and real and true to my life in this vast and crazy world.”

Seamlessly melding emotionally evocative lyricism with memorable and catchy pop-song formats, songwriter Allie Cuva has returned with Every Dog to showcase the work of an experienced young artist, driven toward songs with urgency, poise, and passion. The seven-song album feels like an easily-accessible portal of the personal. Producing and mixing the record herself, allie tactfully designed the recordings from beginning-to-end. The overall winning quality of this album is achieved through allie’s artistic vulnerability and willingness to share secrets with the audience, understanding that through such door-opening, an invitation for a powerful, cathartic and personal interpretive listening experience is made possible.

New York City proved to play a pivotal role in the album’s story and creation and how allie relates to herself and the world around her. After relocating from Detroit and Nashville, the musician explains, “‘Every Dog’” emerged as a bit of a montage-based glimpse into how moving to New York City has changed the way I’m able to interact with my surrounding environment. Having lived most of my life in suburban-type sprawls of Michigan and Tennessee, I’m not sure anything could have prepared me for the vibrancy or constancy of NYC.”

The latest single, “Tiny Colored Pills” is an upbeat tune that tackles heavy topics with a warm sense of optimism and nostalgia, and arrived with a vibrant, playful lyric video. The artist says now, after its transformation, the track, “seethes and simmers with a brighter, more propulsive energy that has finally surfaced and made itself known to us, emphasizing the urgency of its lyrics that deal with romantic idealization, suicidal thoughts, and recalling teenage years with a propensity for self-abandonment, drenched in a yearning to belong.”

Free-flowing and personal, allie delves into personal subject matter with a distinct sound. “Now, the frayed-around-the-edges, DIY-style of recording reflects the spirit of a song that could’ve only been written from an unguarded, vulnerable place.” Sonically, allie drew drum inspiration from The National’s “Apartment Story,” with a surf-rock tinge. The drums and guitar come together to further tell the track’s story, Allie adds, “Paired with the grit of eighth-note guitar strumming through a tube amp breaking up beautifully into your ears, a different character is achieved; the drums feel buoyant and unserious while the guitar acts as a weight, grounding the instrumental.” Its accompanying DIY, vibrant video features the lyrics made with magazine cutouts and collages that mirror its story.

Allie Cuva, who performs under the moniker allie, is a songwriter, producer, mix engineer, multi-instrumentalist and performer. She began writing music at the age of twelve in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan and later moved to Nashville to hone musical skillset and form her artistic identity. The artist then went on to tour extensively as the drummer for indie pop rocker Cavetown. The musician’s 2021 debut LP Maybe Next Time garnered support from Brooklyn VeganAtwood MagazineOur Culture Magazine and more. The LP was followed up by a 7-inch included on Saddle Creek’s Document Series with “cast iron,” produced by Ryan Hemsworth (Tinashe, Mitski) under Quarter-Life Crisis which FLOOD Magazine called “an affecting rumination on connection.” Now, with her rich, vibrant indie-rock project out everywhere, filled with purple gel-penned iridescent bedroom bangers, allie aims to queer a space so often dominated by men and hopes to genuinely connect listeners based on broad, relatable themes of humanity through a lesbian, trans, leftist lens.

The artist’s responsibly sentimental second, self-produced album Every Dog is out now via Snack Shack Tracks and Anxiety Blanket Records. Listen to the new podcast by allie and Sarah Tudzin, SongDive, now here as Sarah, Allie, and special guests discuss the techniques and lessons learned that shaped their recent albums, as well as what they’re most excited about in the realm of recording and producing music today. Join allie live in Ridgewood on October 4 at Cassette to hear the new music and more with tickets available here. Connect with allie now on InstagramFacebook and YouTube and stay tuned for more to come.

Gearing up to make a career-defining statement, multiplatinum Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley announced the arrival of his anxiously awaited next full-length album Post Traumatic set to release on October 11.

Pre-order/Pre-save Post Traumatic HERE.

Tee Grizzley also unleashes new single entitled “Blow For Blow” featuring J. Cole out now via Grizzley Gang/300 Entertainment. It notably marks his first collaboration with the two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning chart-dominating North Carolina rap superstar.

Listen to “Blow for Blow” HERE. Watch the video HERE

Produced by powerhouse Pi’erre Bourne [Drake, Playboi Carti], the track’s synth loop wraps around tense 808s. J. Cole sets the tempo by bodying the beat with raz0r-sharp rhymes. He urges to “proceed with throat-cut procedures,” going on to dispense wisdom, “Don’t trust rappers, ho, trust in Jesus.” An interpolation of a classic hook by The Notorious B.I.G. effectively passes the ball to Tee who delivers a showstopping series of bars. He goes on to coronate himself, “I’m a king. You won’t see me drop no tears,” and steel his position as untouchable, “If this shit goes left, I’m pulling bread out the floor.” The music video seamlessly projects this spirit on-screen. This dynamic duo rap on top of a building against the New York skyline.

Meanwhile, Post Traumatic sees Tee open up like never before. Thematically, he addresses the effect of past traumas upon the present. Once again, he draws on real-life experiences from a place of wisdom and experience, presenting a blueprint for reform and new beginnings. Getting vulnerable, he also delivers the ultimate homage to Detroit and the Midwest.

Earlier this year, Tee Grizzley has been trading bars and unfolding runway for his upcoming album, from singles such as “Swear to God” [feat. Future] to “Robbery 7,” which extended his fan favorite “Robbery” series. Most recently he dropped off his single “Detroit” [feat. 42 Dugg]. Not to mention, he rolled through On The Radar for what became a celebrated freestyle, posting up hundreds of thousands of views in the process.

20. Alya – Glitter & Gold

Source:Release - Topic

Rising artist Alya has released her new single “Glitter & Gold,” out today via LPME Records/Studios. Provoking thoughtful reflection, the Afro-infused pop track’s relatable lyrics navigate the complexities of romance against a father’s cautionary tales.

“I wanted to create something fun and upbeat that people can dance to, but also deliver a meaningful message,” Alya shares on the single. “Even though the track has an energetic vibe, it touches on themes like self-love and making smart choices, reminding listeners that not everything shiny is as great as it seems. It’s about having fun while also feeling empowered to value yourself and make decisions that reflect your worth.”

“Glitter & Gold” invites listeners to dance to its infectious rhythm while contemplating the deeper message behind its lyrics. The song was mastered by GRAMMY-winning engineer Dave Kutch (Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Justin Timberlake) and co-written by Morgan Connie Smith (Kep1er, Nora Fatehi) and Moh Denebi (Loreen, Molly Sandén, Lara Fabian) who also produced the track.

21. The Amours – The Game

Source:The Amours

The Amours, a duo composed of sisters Jakiya and Shaina release new single ‘THE GAME’ produced by Camper and Mamii, out now via November Yellow. Listen HERE.

The Amours in their own words:

“From the moment we heard the production of this song we knew we had to write to it. It felt fun, flirty “very cutesy” haha. We think that the great thing about being artist is that we’re able to create a new masterpiece with every single song or era. Not placing ourselves in a box and being open to playing around with different sounds, melodies and hooks that we wouldn’t typically do. “The Game” isn’t too far off from how we talk that talk, but this time around we sprinkled a little sugar on it to make it sweeter.”

This release follows their recent EP release CHANGES featuring singles “Pick Me Up” ft. TA Thomas, “On The Run,” and “Before I Met You.” The EP, CHANGES, showcases the duo’s dynamic sound as they bounce off each other’s energy. Executively produced entirely by Camper. The theme is a celebration of women from all walks of life. No matter the background, there is a common thread of searching for love throughout various chapters of one’s life–whether it’s self-love or romantic love.

The close-knit harmonies, signature Amours arrangements, and warm R&B vibes will have you screaming what you ‘Don’t Deserve’ even if you’re getting what you do. From touring as a supporting vocalist, being a part of Grammy Award-winning records, and delivering harmony all over the world. The Amours are destined for greatness.

24. Moody Joody – Ground Control

Source:Moody Joody

Today, Nashville-based indie alt-pop group Moody Joody share a hopeful, cathartic anthem “Ground Control,” out today with its accompanying music video. Encouraging and radiant, the latest release aims to avoid burnout and find joy in the mundane. Plus, celebrate the new music live with Moody Joody at their hometown show on November 8, at Nashville’s Row 1.

Next month, Moody Joody will join alt pop/rock group MisterWives on the MisterWives: Just For One Night! tour on select dates. Tickets are on sale now here and see a full list of dates below.

After hitting rock bottom, the only place to go is up. Over a catchy melody and playful rhyme schemes, “Ground Control” sees Moody Joody attempt to quiet the noise and avoid getting lost in the days where life feels cyclical and dull. Written in New York City with frequent collaborator Scott Harris (Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa), the track is a shiny reminder to take risks, set high goals and to look ahead–beyond the immediate future.

After bouncing ideas back and forth and finding its direction, vocalist Kayla Hall shares, “Somewhere along the line it turned into an upbeat anthem about being burned out from the monotony of working side jobs, stuck in a loop of dissociation and being dissatisfied with your current circumstances.” Vocalist Kaitie Forbes adds, “What’s more therapeutic than writing a rock bottom banger?! ‘Ground Control’ is for anyone who has hit their wits end in whatever artistry they are pursuing.”

The track’s accompanying video, directed by Gavin Hurlburt, was a collaborative, heartfelt project that the group is thrilled to see come to life. On the video’s central theme, Hurlburt shares, “The concept for the music video centers around the theme of existentialism. We all have had to work jobs we hated, and do menial tasks. The video explores the ways we escape–or deal with–reality and dream of a better life for ourselves.”

Last month, the trio shared a fresh, re-worked St. Lucia remix of the smooth, synthy “Velvet Connection.” Also co-written by Scott Harris, the tune is a bright, shimmering pop tune that chronicles the early stages of an electric, forbidden summer crush.

This summer, Moody Joody connected with MisterWives on their deluxe album, Nosebleeds: Encore, with an all new version of “All The Same,” joining a staggering list of collaborators, including Betty Who, Meet Me @ The Altar, PVRIS, Pom Pom Squad and more. They also recently supported indie pop band Smallpools on tour.

Moody Joody is a trio made up of Kayla Hall (vocals), Kaitie Forbes (vocals), Andrew Pacheco (producer). In 2020, the band shared their debut single “The Heat” and has steadily released a string of tracks since. As they continue to build their own sonic universe, the group embraces duality, unafraid to meet their emotions head-on and dissect the varied layers of the human experience using dynamic, dreamy production, sparkling instrumentation, soaring vocals and honest lyricism.

Moody Joody want as much out of life as they can get. With “Ground Control” out now, the trio finds optimism in the unknown. Catch the band on tour with MisterWives this fall on select dates and get tickets now here. Connect with Moody Joody on InstagramTwitterYouTube, and TikTok to stay up-to-date for all things Moody Joody.

28. Doodie Lo – What Made Me

Source:Doodie Lo - Topic

Never one to forget where he came from, Doodie Lo is one the realest rappers in the Midwest. Today, he shares What Made Me, his introspective new album.

Across the project’s 16 tracks, the Kankakee, IL rapper dives deep into the moments that have defined his life, starting with thought-provoking opening track “6 Figures.” Throughout the rest of the project, Doodie’s vulnerability is evident, whether he’s telling street stories on tracks like “Sumn New,” and “The Kankakee Story,” reflecting on how far he’s come on “Livin My Dreams” and “Bald Head Rich N***a,” or diving deep into the pain of past relationships on “Cheaters” and “When I Call” ft. Hunxho. The raspy-voiced rapper closes the project with arguably his most revealing tracks to date – “Relapsed” and title track “What Made Me,” where he details his experiences at rehab, losing loved ones like King Von, and getting comfortable expressing his emotions. The project also features previously released singles including “Tweakers” ft. Skilla Baby & Rob49 and “HOODBACHI,” a collaboration with Tee Grizzley. Complete with additional guest appearances from MozzyIcewear VezzoFredo Bang, and more, What Made Me is out now via Only the Family/EMPIRE.

What Made Me is the follow up to Doodie Lo’s acclaimed 2021 debut Big Doodie Lo. The Lil Durk co-signed rapper made a big impression with his debut, which is home to “Me & Doodie Lo,” an energetic collab between King Von and Doodie (24 million YouTube views), in which the legendary O-Block native gives Mr. Kankakee an enthusiastic co-sign. Over the past few years, Doodie Lo has considerably grown his profile, racking up over 80 million streams to date, gaining hundreds of thousands of YouTube subscribers and Spotify Monthly Listeners, and collaborating with heavy hitters like Kodak BlackMoneybagg YoPooh Shiesty, and more. With What Made Me out now, Doodie Lo is ready to claim the midwest street rap throne.

29. Juliet Lloyd – Call Your Wife

Source:julietlloyd

After the release of “Pretty” earlier this year, singer-songwriter Juliet Lloyd received an out-of-the-blue text from a number she didn’t recognize. “The sender apparently didn’t think I was being fair to the guy in my song,” Lloyd says. “Pretty” was the tip of the iceberg in a batch of new songs that would become Lloyd’s first full-length album since 2007; most of which find the songwriter interrogating previous relationships and the effect each one had on her life. “Pretty” served almost as an origin story for all those relationships to come, highlighting Lloyd’s finding her voice in her return to songwriting and speaking truth to the shame and guilt inflicted by an emotionally abusive, expert gaslighter she’d tried so hard to forget.

So when her phone buzzed in the middle of the night with the unsolicited feedback on “Pretty,” Lloyd’s mind went into overdrive. “I immediately broke out into a cold sweat and all those feelings from twenty-plus years ago of being gaslit came flooding back,” she remembers. “It made me not want to perform the song briefly, but then I remembered that I don’t have to be silent.” Already in the midst of making her new album, Lloyd and her producer Todd Wright reacted in real-time and wrote her latest single “Call Your Wife,” a cathartic retort for Lloyd but a worrying message for its intended recipient. It’s pointed, and a little unhinged,” says Lloyd of her new single. “It starts as a darkly innocent-sounding waltz with sweetly threatening lyrics and builds to a really satisfying, vengeful final chorus.” For a song that happened in the midst of recording her album release, “Call Your Wife” fits in perfectly with the rest of its collection, and in some ways, puts a bow on the entire timeline Lloyd is bravely sharing with the world. “It’s for all the people who have felt like they couldn’t speak up and confront their gaslighters and abusers.”

Out on October 25th, Lloyd’s new album Carnival is the culmination of years away from the music industry grind, the hours spent writing through some of life’s hardest challenges, and the reintroduction of an artist now ripe with wisdom and experience. Recorded in an unhurried process over nearly 15 months and produced by Todd Wright (Lucy Woodward, Butch Walker, Toby Lightman), Carnival’s nine songs are a study in contrasts: Light and dark, devastating and self-deprecating, apologetic and angry, conversational and conceptual. They are genre-fluid, weaving elements of pop, folk, soul, and rock to create a vibrant and often unexpected platform for Lloyd’s unflinching storytelling.

Fans can stream or purchase “Call Your Wife” today at this link, check out Lloyd’s previously-released single, “Wallflower,” here, and pre-order or pre-save Carnival ahead of its October release right here. The Juliet Lloyd Trio will take the stage tonight at The Village at Worman’s Mill in Frederick, Maryland, and Lloyd has just announced a special Carnival release show at The Bitter End in New York City on November 19th.  A full list of tour dates can be found at julietlloyd.com/tour.

31. Hunxho – Part Of The Plan/Hold Me Down

Source:Hunxho

In the fast lane towards superstardom, rising East Atlanta rapper Hunxho unveils a new single entitled “Part Of The Plan” and another new single “Hold Me Down” out now. Capitalizing on his incredible momentum, the songs pave the way for the arrival of his anxiously awaited next full-length album, dropping this Fall.

On “Part Of The Plan,” the production layers woozy verses over a bed of bold orchestration. He reflects on his journey and pledges himself to a nonstop grind. The message ultimately uplifts and empowers as the hook proclaims, “Get in the game and then just lose, that ain’t part of the plan.” Reflecting on where he’s been but focused on where hes going, he reminds himself, “They can’t treat me like no shrimp because I’m too damn big!” The visual is an embodiment of his journey.

He creatively doubles down by also serving up “Hold Me Down.” It illuminates yet another side of his forthcoming body of work. The production threads bright acoustic guitar through a head-nodding drum loop. This time around, he leans on his significant other for strength and support as he stares down all kinds of trials and tribulations. Overflowing with emotion, he urges, “If you care for me, then help me with my flaws,” going on to plead, “Hold me down, there ain’t no other way to hold me.”

The songs hint at the versatility and vitality to expect from his next LP.

This year, HUNXHO has been preparing us for his plan. From his sold out “One Night Only” Tour where he continued to expand his audience to landing himself a part of the 2024 XXL Freshman class cementing his spot. The project generated 10 million-plus global streams fueled by the likes of “Closer To Over.” Followed by that, HUNXHO joined Sexyy Red on her massive “Sexyy Red For President” Tour across North America.

33. Anella – Don’t HMU

Source:NELLA

Genre-bending artist Anella unveils the highly anticipated visual for his hit single “Don’t HMU.” With over 15M streams across platforms and a viral From The Block performance, “Don’t HMU” solidifies Anella’s rise in the pop/rap country world proving he can do it all. In the track he reflects on all the changes that come with newfound success, calling out those who used to overlook him but are suddenly paying attention. Directed by Nick Mays and produced by Shaq Gonzoe/ Reel Goats, the quirky video sees Anella embodying a modern-day Mr. Rodgers, sharply dressed in a frat-like room filled with empty Happy Dad cans and women’s underwear. In a twist, the scene pops up on a couple’s TV screen, triggering the woman to grab a baseball bat and smash the TV in a fit of rage.

Hailing from Trinity, North Carolina, Anella began his musical journey playing drums in church and performing at local bars before he was old enough to drink. Since signing with Def Jam in 2022, he’s emerged as a rising star, blending country pop with rap, rock, and spiritual themes. His breakout tracks “Lock N Key” and “Tennessee Love Song” have gained traction across streaming platforms, boosted by live performances on On The Radar (whose Country edition launch garnered over 1M+ views and reactions from Adin Ross, Duke Dennis, Jaielijah and more) and From The Block. Anella has earned festival slots like CMA Fest, opened for David J on a 13-date tour, and appeared on Diplo’s single “Willing To Let You Go.” He’s now gearing up for a fall tour with Kidd G.

34. Serj Tankian – Foundations

Source:serjtankian

Today, singer, poet, songwriter, visual artist, film producer, activist and author SERJ TANKIAN, lead singer and lyricist for the GRAMMY© Award-winning rock band System Of A Down releases FOUNDATIONS, his EP of new music, worldwide via Gibson Records HERE. SERJ has also debuted the new video for the song “Cartoon Buyer” which begins with hushed, folk tones of SERJ playing acoustic guitar, gradually building in intensity before exploding in sonic and spiritual catharsis.

Watch/share the video for “Cartoon Buyer” which also features SERJ’s SOAD bandmate, John Dolmayan on drums: HERE.

SERJ TANKIAN’s FOUNDATIONS mines music and lyrics from previous decades and reframes them in a hard-hitting, intensely focused collection. Like all of TANKIAN’s work, the five songs that comprise FOUNDATIONS encompass a wide range of sounds and styles. It is music that traverses multiple eras and vast swaths of emotions. It is also very much a rock album – “music of rebellion,” says TANKIAN.

FOUNDATIONS kicks off with “A.F. Day,” a raging, heavy-riffing track that sounds like classic TANKIAN. The origins of the song date back almost three decades, to his earliest days with System of a Down. TANKIAN never brought it to the band to record, and when he happened upon “A.F. Day” more recently he “felt it should finally be released.” In doing so, he retained much of the original music, including his vocals – a decision that was partly pragmatic: “My voice has naturally changed over time,” TANKIAN explains. As the lyrics demonstrate, his attitude has not. “Medieval educators locking horns at the playground at 5 / Real live police crime shows submission of the population at large,” he rails, expressing disgust with indoctrination and blind deference to authority at every turn.

Listen/watch the official video for SERJ TANKIAN’s “A.F. Day” HERE.

“A.F. Day” is followed the album’s most anthemic track, and also its emotional centerpiece: “Justice Will Shine On.” Another song whose compositional roots date back to the early SOAD days, the impassioned hard rocker is nonetheless instilled with a message that is as hard-hitting and vital today. Over potent riffs and pummeling rhythms, TANKIAN grapples with the atrocities of the Armenian genocide experienced by his grandparents firsthand. He addresses their suffering in jarringly personal and direct terms, singing, “Can you tell me dear grandfather of your childhood so far away / You can see the death of laughter in his teared eyes disarray / Can you tell me dear grandmother of your childhood from hunger and pain / Of the orphans you called brothers in her teared eyes disarray.” As the song launches into its soaring chorus, TANKIAN declares that his grandparents’ torment, and the anguish experienced by all Armenian victims, will not be in vain. “We are the children of all the survivors / Justice will shine on!”

Watch/share the official video for SERJ TANKIAN’s “Justice Will Shine On” HERE.

Elsewhere on FOUNDATIONS, “Appropriations” (an older song I’ve ‘re-appropriated’ to modern times,” he says) juxtaposes a snake-y, arpeggiated verse with a crushing chorus in a clash of eastern and western modalities, as TANKIAN unspools lyrics that play off complementary sounds and contrasting sensibilities: “Resignation, provocation, segregation… imagination and creation,” he croons. And “Cartoon Buyer,” which dates to a period just prior to TANKIAN’s first solo record, 2007’s Elect the Dead, begins in hushed, almost folk-y mode, and gradually builds – both in intensity and actual tempo – before exploding in sonic and spiritual catharsis. Throughout the track, TANKIAN scrutinizes the divides within humanity (“You see me without emotions / I see you across the oceans,” he intones) before ultimately declaring our oneness: “California to Argentina…Saudi Arabia to Tunisia…Armenia to Australia…Israel to Indonesia / They are us and we are them.”

Finally, “Life’s Revengeful Son,” originally recorded prior to TANKIAN’s 2010 Imperfect Harmonies album, incorporates a variety of instrumentation, including acoustic and electric guitars and dramatic orchestration, into an epic closer with unmatched imagery: “The final revolution will occur when the arms of the clock fall,” TANKIAN sings. “Jesus seen in the streets, dragging a car axel instead of the cross.”

A true creative tour de force, TANKIAN recorded FOUNDATIONS primarily at his own Serjical Strike Studios in L.A. He wrote, performed, orchestrated and produced all the material, as well as contributed the artwork – an original piece titled “Sunburst” – that adorns the album cover. Additional instrumentation on the record was provided by Dan Monti (guitars, bass and drum programming) and, on “Cartoon Buyer,” by bassist Mario Pagliarulo, and SOAD drummer John Dolmayan.

FOUNDATIONS, TANKIAN says is, “A retrospective of songs from different eras of my life, meant to complement the memoir,” and caps what has been an incredibly prolific year for TANKIAN, from the release of his memoir the New York Times bestseller Down with the System, to the massive, sold-out System of a Down headlining show at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco with over 50,000 fans. But even as he is now revealing his “foundations,” TANKIAN is already looking ahead. “The next record will likely be a record of covers, collaborations and collages,” he envisions.

Credit his restless, ever-curious creative spirit. “I’m always moving in different directions,” TANKIAN says. “Repetition is boring, and the death of art.”

As previously announced, on November 1, TANKIAN will release a diverse selection of limited edition variants of the FOUNDATIONS EP on colored vinyl with an etching featured on Side B of every package. The FOUNDATIONS vinyl package includes a Red & Black Starburst vinyl (pictured below) available on TANKIAN’s own official webstore HERE, and an Opaque Purple version only available in U.S. record stores nationwide.

In celebration of TANKIAN’s Fall 2024 REVOLVER magazine cover story, an exclusive and limited edition vinyl in a striking Dark Blue Marble, is bundled with a special edition of the cover story wrapped in a one-of-a-kind photo slipcase. The limited edition REVOLVER bundle of FOUNDATIONS with the magazine and vinyl is available HERE.

35. Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers – Between Two Worlds (French TV)

Source:Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
“Between Two Worlds (French TV),” a rediscovered, previously unreleased version of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers original track, is out now with an accompanying music video featuring never-before-seen remastered archival footage. The unique version, recorded during the band’s iconic ‘80s French TV sessions, offers a fresh take of the song complete with a different tempo—listen here and watch here. It is featured on the deluxe edition of their groundbreaking, but often overlooked, 1982 record, Long After Dark, set for release via Geffen/UMe on October 18—pre-order/pre-save it here.

Since announcing the expansive deluxe project last month, the Petty Legacy archives have been steadily rolling out previously unseen, newly remastered film and audio from the era 1982 to 1983, including the lost cult classic documentary, TOM PETTY: HEARTBREAKERS BEACH PARTY, directed by legendary Rolling Stone journalist and Academy Award-winning director Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire). Originally airing only once on MTV in February 1983 as Crowe’s directorial debut, the film is set to appear in cinemas worldwide this year for two special nights only on October 17 and October 20.

Additionally, a fully restored and remastered 4K version of the sci-fi western influenced music video of “You Got Lucky,” directed by Jim Lenahan, is out now. The video, one of Petty’s most iconic, was groundbreaking and pioneering for its short film approach and futuristic style—watch here. It follows a 4K behind-the-scenes look at the making of the music video directed by Justin Kreutzmann—watch here.

Long After Dark (Deluxe Edition) will feature the songs that were lost in the debate over the album’s original direction. Notable highlights include finding Petty’s version of “Never Be You”—which was a #1 country hit for Rosanne Cash—pop anomaly “Don’t Make Me Walk the Line,” and an up-tempo version of “Ways To Be Wicked,” which was previously covered by Lone Justice.

“There was some music recorded for Long After Dark that didn’t get on the record, that I thought would’ve made it a better album,” said Tom Petty. “I left off…four things that I liked quite a bit. And probably a few more written that never even got in the door.”

Looking back on their third and final album together, legendary rock music producer Jimmy Iovine reflects, “Long After Dark, we thought we had it. Sounded like Positively Fourth Street, sounded like one of those records, you know. By the way, I think it is!”

Long After Dark (Deluxe Edition) features the newly remastered original album from the original analog master tapes, plus 12 rediscovered bonus tracks newly mixed by Petty’s longtime engineer Ryan Ulyate and boasts packaging designed by Grammy Award-winning designer Jeri Heiden, liner notes by legendary rock journalist and Tom Petty Radio host David Fricke, with commentary from Jimmy Iovine and Cameron Crowe and iconic archival photographs by Dennis Callahan, Neal Preston and Aaron Rapoport. The set will be released in a variety of configurations, highlighted by a limited edition TomPetty.com 2LP pressing on 180-gram red with black splatter color vinyl, housed in a numbered foil tip-on jacket with an exclusive lithograph; a 3-disc set featuring 2 CDs, and a Blu-ray audio disc with additional hi-res stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes of the album and bonus tracks, also mixed by Ulyate; a variety of additional vinyl options includes a 2LP on 180-gram black vinyl; a limited edition 1LP 180-gram turquoise color vinyl pressing (main album only) with double-sided lithograph of Blaze Brooks’ illustrations (available exclusively at indie record stores).

The album will also be available at all streaming, download and HD audio download partners.

The 12-song album marks another powerful milestone in Mickey’s career, showcasing her signature blend of authentic storytelling and soulful vocals. The album’s title track “House on Fire” takes listeners on a vulnerable journey, as Mickey sings “Love and war ain’t easy after all” and asks “If I go and set this house on fire, if we go and strip these walls to the wires, will you still love me?”

“House on Fire is an album of songs that I wrote to my husband about our relationship, the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between,” said Mickey Guyton. This album is completely wholeheartedly me and I’m so excited for you all to hear it.”

Mickey previewed the visual on CBS Mornings and made her first-ever appearance on The Breakfast Club. During her interview with Charlamagne tha God, DJ Envy and Loren LoRosa, she also shed light on her friendship with Cardi B and wanting to collaborate with GloRilla on a country song.

37. Brontë Fall – Face The Night

Source:Brontë Fall

“Does love really conquer it all?” asks singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Teri Bracken, known better under her stage name, Brontë Fall, on her latest single “Face The Night.” A slow-grooving, slow-burning examination of what it means to compartmentalize life’s heavy loads, “Face The Night” is the musical version of closing your eyes and finding a racing mind instead of peaceful sleep. “I wrote ‘Face The Night’ with my friend Katie Pederson in the late summer of 2020,” remembers Fall. “We were both feeling the weight of that year, from tornadoes to pandemics and city riots to my father’s battle with cancer. It was such a heavy time.”

“I can’t face the night  / Skeletons outta the closet / Monsters under my bed  / Can’t escape this nightmare of my humanness,” Fall sings in the song’s chorus, mixing classic childhood fears with all-too-real adult feelings. “During the hustle and bustle of the day, it’s easy to forget the heaviness,” she says. “It isn’t until the evening comes that all the dust and sadness begins to settle. And it can make for a pretty restless night of sleep.” Swirling, slinky, and reminiscent of a bad dream—if sleep did eventually come—the music behind “Face The Night” ebbs and flows behind Fall’s moody vocal performance. Jazzy horns stabs interject reverb-laden electric piano throughout the first half of the song before everything ramps up, framed by a stellar rhythm section and string arrangement. Between its shadowy verses, darkly-catchy chorus, and convicting bridge, “Face The Night” embodies exactly what Fall and many others have been feeling since 2020. “In truth,” she says, “through these very difficult years, and with losing my dad, I feel like sleeping has been the hardest part.”

“Face The Night” is the latest single from Fall’s upcoming LP, Not Done Yet; an open book into the celebrated artist’s grappling with heartbreak and mourning the loss of her father, resolve in the face of doubt in the music industry, and ultimately, perseverance and resilience through it all. Throughout Not Done Yet, Fall candidly wrestles with herself. She almost quits. She pulls herself back. She laughs at those who told her to get a more sustainable career. She curses herself for not getting a more sustainable career. She’s upfront, honest, and humble as she writes to get through life—all while turning a tune fit for radio singalongs worldwide.

Fans can stream or purchase “Face The Night” today at this link, check out Fall’s previously released Not Done Yet singles “Worth the Money,” “One More Day,” “Making It Up” and “Woman Like Me” at their respective links, and stay updated on the album ahead of its October 25th release at brontefall.com

38. MoneyBagg Yo – Speak Now Or…(Deluxe Version)

Source:MoneyBagg Yo

Today, multi-platinum rapper / artist Moneybagg Yo unleashes a deluxe version of his latest album, now titled SPEAK NOW OR…, featuring seven new tracks. The 24-song project isn’t just expansive, it’s also packed with ferocious wordplay, infectious hooks and bumpin’ beats — not to mention brand new and exhilarating collaborations. Listen HERE via CMG/N-Less/Interscope Records.

Among the new entries is “WYD” featuring Memphis heavyweights GloRilla and Big Boogie, a club-ready anthem that spotlights the raw talent from all three major players, and “OUTTA TOWN” alongside Tallahassee’s Bossman Dlow. SPEAK NOW arrived earlier this Summer to widespread anticipation. One of the main highlights from the record includes massive RIAA Gold-certified collaboration “Whiskey Whiskey” featuring country superstar Morgan Wallen, a southern hip-hop / country hybrid which has taken both worlds by storm. Since release, the song has hit No. 28 on the Billboard Hot100 Chart, Bagg has joined Wallen on stage earlier this summer to perform the cross-genre hit, Wallen used the full track during the famous ‘walk out’ at his Hyde Park Concert in London, and the song was even chosen as one of former president Barack Obama’s top songs of the summer (see HERE).

With SPEAK NOW OR…, Moneybagg Yo supercharges his most recent album and sets the stage for his next chapter.

39. LG Malique & Lukas Graham – Seven Years

Source:LG Malique

Warner Records’ rising star, LG Malique, delivers a striking reimagining of the multi-platinum hit “Seven Years,” with none other than the song’s original creator, Grammy-nominated artist Lukas Graham. Malique’s interpolation of the 2015 anthem layers his own story of struggle, growth, and resilience over the track’s iconic piano and heartfelt lyrics, breathing new life into the coming-of-age classic. Listen HERE and watch the cinematic video HERE.

The song opens with Malique’s introspective take: “Life goin’ fast but we kids and we thinkin’ it’ll be that way forever,” instantly pulling listeners into a deeply personal narrative. As the song unfolds, Malique tackles heavy themes like addiction and overcoming adversity, while Lukas Graham steps in with an updated verse: “Once I was 20 years old, life finally showed me that some of those around wasn’t my homies.” The new version is a raw, emotional journey that stands on its own while honoring the original.

Originally gaining buzz with an unofficial track on social media, Malique’s version of “Seven Years” has already garnered over 2.7 million views on YouTube and sparked viral moments on TikTok, SoundCloud, and Instagram. Reflecting on the track’s growing success, Malique shares, “Seven Years reflects my journey through struggles, from drugs at 13 to heartbreak and growing up in the hood. No matter where you come from, we’ve all got obstacles to face, and that’s what makes this song hit home for so many.”

Born and raised in Arkansas, LG Malique found his first love in music after a brief stint in dancing. Thanks to his grandmother, who supported his earliest recording sessions, he soon discovered his true calling behind the mic. He first turned heads on SoundCloud with his breakout track “Sideline,” which led to his indie debut EP, 100 Days, and standout singles like “Change” and “Selfish Ways.” As his fanbase grew, so did his catalog, releasing a pair of EPs —  Long Story Short and Colorblind  — showcasing his talent for blending raw emotion with storytelling.

43. New Translations ft. Michigander – Voided Velvet

Source:New Translations

Today, buzzing Nashville alternative band New Translations (f/k/a Jive Talk) release their latest single entitled “Voided Velvet” with Michigander out now via War Buddha/Warner Records. Listen to “Voided Velvet” HERE

“‘Voided Velvet’ is a song about wasting time with someone,” explains New Translations frontman Oliver Pierce. “It’s a common theme in modern dating to be in “situationships,” and they’re confusing and exciting and frustrating. Setting the song to an upbeat, chant-led, feel-good indie rock jam felt like a nice juxtaposition. We’ve all looked up to Jason’s work since we first discovered Michigander, and when he agreed to hop on the track, we knew it would take the sound to the next level. A real 10/10 guy, would recommend!”

“Oliver and I were talking and when he showed me the track, the vibe of this one just stuck out as something really special,” says Michigander’s Jason Singer. “I had a great time working with the band as they are doing something different, and I was grateful to be a part of it.”

The track cruises along on a buoyant and breezy upbeat groove accented by glossy keys and loose guitar. Pierce and Michigander lock into a hypnotic back-and-forth on the verses, dissolving into a dynamic chorus. It culminates on the chant “It’s a lovely time” before a hummable melodic guitar lead takes hold and never lets go.

It follows the band’s most recent anthem “Vacation” which landed in the wake of “Sally” and “Rat People.” This summer, the band hit  the stage at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN  following a cross-country tour. WNSM Radio states, “I think they might be addictive. I’m ready to drop everything – and you should too -… If this is a cult, sign me up.”

Be on the lookout for more news and music from New Translations very soon.

44. YDE – Parachute

Source:YDE

Building out a vibrant sonic vision, pop music’s triple threat (singer/songwriter, producer, actress) YDE (pronounced EE-dee) shares a hypnotic new single entitled “Parachute” today. Listen to the track HERE via Facet Records/Warner Records. It sets the stage for the release of her highly-anticipated 8 EP, arriving October 18. Pre-order/Pre-save HERE.

“Parachute encapsulates the fear of what ifs. It’s the fear of loss, the fear of being hurt. As I get older, I’m allowing myself to experience life and love in a deeper way. And because of that, I’m more vulnerable to the pain that could lie on the other side,” YDE explains. “This juxtaposition is what this song is intended to feel like. The bright sonics of it carry you through the lyrical anxiety. Life and love are unforgiving, and that is the beauty of it all. This song is about walking through open doors without holding on to fear.”

The single revolves around a steady percussive rhythm fueled by claps. Acoustic guitar hugs the beat as YDE’s airy humming gives way to an equally catchy and confessional chorus. Exuding raw honesty, she exhales, “I’m scared to jump. I’m scared my parachute ain’t what it was. I know too much.”

“Parachute” lands in the wake of the recent singles “Defense of Love” and “Free Fall.” UPROXX touted “Free Fall” among “All The Best New Pop Music From This Week,” going on to applaud how “YDE’s breathy vocals convey her desperate feelings toward someone who doesn’t deserve it.”

YDE’s SEND HELP EP originally arrived in 2022 and has earned widespread critical acclaim. NYLON applauded “the project’s inquisitive and emotional world,” and Flaunt proclaimed, “With soft and subtle transitions between each track, the artist carefully weaves together a story of love, life, and identity.” Billboard hailed the single “People Can Change” as “touching.” Meanwhile, OnesToWatch attested, “wow did those skills come to fruition in SEND HELP, a saucy affair that is equal parts riveting, subtle, and complex.”

The rising artist first made waves with 2020’s “Stopped Buying Diamonds,” co-written with mentor and Facet Records founder Justin Tranter, a tongue-in-cheek recognition that Gen Z is disastrous in the eyes of older generations.

Pecos & The Rooftops - Missing Peace Source:Pecos & The Rooftops

Platinum-certified rising Texas-based country rock band Pecos & The Rooftops share an emotionally charged new single entitled “Missing Peace,” available today. Listen HERE via Warner Records.

The song illuminates yet another dimension of the buzzing group’s dynamic and diverse signature sound. Lightly strummed acoustic guitar underscores confessional verses as frontman Pecos Hurley gets introspective. All of this unfiltered reflection gives way to a moment of realization in the chorus, “Loving you is saving me.” A piercing guitar solo only amplifies this sentiment as his last words echo, “You saw the goodness in a hundred miles an hour.”

It lands in the wake of “One Drunk Summer,” which notably marked the group’s first release since their self-titled debut album, Pecos & The Rooftops, in 2023. Right out of the gate, it amassed over 1 million total streams and counting. Right now, Pecos & The Rooftops are in the midst of a string of headline dates and festival appearances. Check out the full confirmed itinerary below.

Last year, Pecos & The Rooftops accelerated their rise with the release of their debut LP. It houses signature staples such as 5AM, Hurt No More,” Last Thing I Remember, Bricks, and She Says. Beyond generating nearly a quarter-of-a-billion streams, it has earned critical applause. Music Connection chronicled their rise and highlighted how “the country rockers continued kicking up dust through touring and recording.” Holler. praised, “It’s a close-knit sense of camaraderie that shines through in their live shows.”

Pecos & The Rooftops have been perfecting a signature heavy blend of lowdown country and classic rock since their inception with the band living in a big five-bedroom house in Lubbock, Texas. Formed in 2019 by a tight- knit squad of college friends, the band outfits their soulful Americana with muscular guitar grit, yet remains tuneful and melodic. They’ve carved out a singular niche for themselves in the rich songwriting tradition of their home state, as evidenced by their debut Warner Records single “5AM,” which has amassed over 26.4 million global streams to date. Anchored by the heart-baring songwriting and booming voice of former Marine Pecos Hurley, the band is rounded out by top-tier players and songwriters Brandon Jones (rhythm guitar), Jessie Santos (lead guitar), Kalen Davis (bass), Garrett Peltier (drums) and Hunter Cassell (guitars & keys).

Pecos & The Rooftops chose their name—a nod to the part of the house they’d hang out, drink beers, and jam on—just before self-releasing their debut single, 2019’s slow-burning “This Damn Song.” It was a runaway success, earning an RIAA Platinum certification and going on to rack up more than 349 million streams globally. Deciding to ride the wave for as long as they could, the band hit the road immediately after and haven’t stopped since, touring relentlessly on the club and festival circuit opening for the likes of rising country star Koe Wetzel. They released the Red Eye EP in 2020, expanding on their already solid sound with extra emphasis on guitar structures and complex yet melodic arrangements, hinting at jazz and psychedelic influences.

Pecos & The Rooftops have earned a devoted fan base who’ve come out to support them both online and, on the road, with the band garnering over 514 million global streams to date and more than 128 million video views. They’re currently on a nationwide headline tour with more dates to be announced soon. “At the end of the day, I just want to help people with our music, honestly,” Hurley says. Pecos & the Rooftops are set to do that and much, much more.
