Ladies and gents, swallow your pride and admit it: Kate Upton is one of the faces of our generation. And how else do you prove that than with an American Vogue Magazine cover?

Kate Upton showed off her toned physique on the cover of the fashion magazine after making her debut on the Met Gala red carpet earlier in the week.

This is far from Upton’s first Vogue cover (she has covered both British Vogue and Italian Vogue) but it is the hometown glory of covering American Vogue that comes with great pride.

The noticeably slimmed down Kate posed in a series of “all American girl” poses, including retro-inspired pin up spreads, for the magazine.

Check out the photos below and some excerpts from the interview as well.

On social media:

“It’s just me sharing my life, I like it if it’s authentic and in the moment and happening. Growing up, I didn’t buy the magazines that had models on the covers, because I didn’t know them. So I think it kind of gives me, as a model, a personality that people can connect with.”

On her critics:

“The things that they’re rejecting are things that I can’t change. I can’t change my bra size. They’re natural! I can work out and I can stay healthy and motivated, but I can’t change some things. I really just live my life. I love my body. It’s what God gave me! I feel confident with myself, and if that inspires other women to feel confident with their bodies, great.”

On her career:

“I always had career goals. And I figured out a path I wanted to take to accomplish those goals. If that meant calling the best modeling agency in the world, that’s what it meant.”

On being a runway model:

“I never set out to be on the runway. I feel like I trust my career path. I would love to have my own lingerie line.”
