If you ever wanted to see a Chappelle skit in real life, here it is.

In an effort to change one of the most extreme and racist groups of all time, Ku Klux Klan organizer John Abarr wants to rebrand the group to the “Rocky Mountain Knights” and fight for “a stronger America,” rather than hatred for other races.

Abarr is a former white supremacist from Great Falls, Montana who wants to give the KKK a makeover by inviting Hispanics, African-Americans, and other races to join. If they decide to sign up, they would wear the infamous white gowns and conical hats associated with the lynchings of many black people throughout history.

“White supremacy is the old Klan. This is the new Klan. The KKK is for a strong America,” said Mr Abarr.  The move comes after Abarr met with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He said: ‘I thought it was a really good organization. I don’t feel we need to be separate.’

Abarr visited the Montana NAACP chapter, paid the $30 enrollment fee, and donated $20.

While some people are optimistic about Abarr’s actions, others believe he’s using the KKK to chase political aspirations.

Bradley Jenkins, Imperial Wizard of the KKK, said: ‘That man’s going against everything the bylaws of the constitution of the KKK say. He’s trying to hide behind the KKK to further his political career.’

In 2012, Abarr ran as a Republican for Montana’s space in the US House of Representatives. Abarr promised voters he would keep abortion legal, create more mental health programs, and save the “White Race.”

While Abarr wants to change the group, it still remains classified as a hate group by the anti-Semitism organization Anti-Defamation League, and the civil rights law firm Southern Poverty Law Center. And we doubt a little all-inclusive speech from Abarr is going to serve as an epic PR move to erase the organization’s dark roots.

We’re just saying.
