There’ve been numerous actors to don the black cape and mask of Batman during the challenge of portraying Bruce Wayne.
From TV’s Adam West, to Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney, some of Hollywood’s leading men have played the caped crusader over the years. But who is the very best? How do these people match up to the current Christian Bale as the Dark Knight?

Michael Keaton’s infamous scowl found its way into the hearts of millions of fans when he played Bruce Wayne in the 1989 version of Batman. Old heads might feel a certain way about Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight, but can Keaton’s Bruce Wayne really eff with Christian Bale doing his thing inside Wayne Manor?
Then we had the double dose of Val Kilmer and George Clooney, who both played one round of Bruce Wayne and the Caped Crusader. Kilmer shined in his metallic suit, but George Clooney’s Batsuit had nipples!
However, Christian Bale played the hell out of Bruce Wayne for three Batman movies, making The Dark Knight Rises, one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
