Round of applause; let me see those hands clap! Kim Kardashian opened up her heart and wallet to donate double the amount of her wedding gifts to the Dream Foundation.
The charity is on a mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals and their families who are battling life-threatening illness by helping adults' dreams come true.
Kim had a dream to have this big lavish fairy tale wedding, and let's just say there wasn't a happy ending to this story.
It gave her haters another reason to hate. It gave her haters another reason to help convince people not to like her, but it wasn't all bad.
The marriage showed the world that hurt people hurt people and that Kim Kardashian's heart is still in the right place - even though it's been broken from a failed love! Kim's donation will help fulfill the dreams of women like Angela DeVries, who lives life like every day is her last day, mainly because it might be. She suffers from a terminal colon cancer and has to undergo chemotherapy for the rest of her life. This makes everyday tasks like tending to her children almost impossible.
Her dying wish was a modest one. Angela wanted one final family vacation. Her husband is unemployed and trying his best to make the medical payments, the Dream Foundation made that wish come true. So for one week, "cancer" didn't exist for Angela. All they wanted was to experience family joy!
"That's what we did. We have snapshots of those smiles. It's a true smile. It's a happy smile," said Tracy Devries.
Angela knows she eventually won't be around anymore. But it's those memories she says that will last forever.
"I know these pictures will help with the kids too, when I'm not here. It will be something for them to see. And look back on and remember that we had a great time as a family," she said.
This is what Kim is passionate about. Even while people claim this charitable donation is just a PR stunt, I seriously doubt that! Because Kim is still getting hammered in the media. Hammered for wanting to love, hammered for loving publicly. Hammered for loving without limitations. Hammered because love didn't work out in her favor.
She donated money to help others because her heart wanted to. She donated the money because broken hearts shouldn't stop the world from needing to feel loved. So on behalf of dreamers who still believe in love, I say thank you.
