Hal Jackson, the legendary voice of New York’s WBLS, has died at the age of 96 due to illness.
WBLS released a statement expressing their sadness at the loss of the radio pioneer.
Jackson was a popular radio and television personality and one of the most respected men in the communications industry.
As a radio pioneer, Jackson experienced many “firsts” that have assisted in opening doors for other aspiring Black broadcasters, musicians and performers.
