Lauri Morrison, the mother of a Bo Morrison, said she can’t sleep at night after her 20-year-old son was shot and killed while hiding on the porch of Adam Kind, after attempting to run from an underage drinking party next door.

We reached out to Ms. Morrison in hopes of shedding light on her son’s shooting death.
GlobalGrind: Why do you think Adam Kind came out of his house with a gun?
I don’t know why he came out of his bedroom with a cocked Colt 45 gun after he already called the police…he threatened the party, knew there was a party, so why he walked out onto an open porch and killed my son, til this day I’ll never know. But he already knew of the party, because he is the one who called the police. It doesn’t make any sense. There’s was a swat car sitting three hundred feet in front of his front door, two hundred feet behind, and I have diagrams from the police department…why not just wait two seconds. They were already outside; they were walking through the snow. He took it upon himself and shot my son. He could have waited to seconds, he knew they were outside. This has been an absolute nightmare. I haven’t been able to sleep ever since that night.
There has been some comments that your son was trespassing on someone else’s property and Adam Kind was just trying to protect his family. How do you feel about that?
Lauri Morrison: You have an innocent kid running to a porch un-armed, and he stands there, just looking for a place to hide from all of the commotion, crotches down and gets murdered? That’s ridiculous! He was completely un-armed. Adam Kind claimed self-defense, but how is that self-defense if my son never tried to harm him?
You think that Adam Kind in no way was in danger?
There’s absolutely no way Adam Kind was in danger at all. He already knew that there was a party going right next door to his house. He told someone earlier in the evening when he came over to the party that “someone will be responsible” and my son was responsible…he died. He knew there was a party going on. He called the police three times.
Did Adam Kind say that he stood up and put his hands in the air?
He said he stood up and put one hand in the air, but Adam Kind also stated to the police he could not see anything because it was dark. If he couldn’t see anything because it was so dark, how did he see a hand in the air?
What did the DA tell you?
The DA told me under the Castle Doctrine Law that Adam Kind was not going to be charged and he let him go free. And because he did that, there is absolutely nothing we can do anymore as far as criminal charges against this man. Because of the law the DA Mark Bensen put him under, he has tied our hands. I begged Mark Bensen for a grand jury and they would not give it to us. So we just sit here hoping and praying maybe we can take a step forward for my son Bo who was murdered on that porch that morning.
Do you think there is any race motives involved?
I’ve never seen a black male in Slinger in my life. Why did Bo even go to that party? I begged him not to. I read in the police report that Adam Kind said, “the homeowner told officers he’d seen people deal drugs and stated he knows the girls mingle with individuals from the Milwaukee area, but he told police he didn’t report it then for fear of retaliation.” My son was not a bad kid and I only can hope that he was not shot because he is black.
