Elizabeth Olsen is doing her magazine rounds this fall. On the brink of the release of her new movie Liberal Arts, set to hit theaters on September 14th, Elizabeth has been mastering the art of visibility exactly where it matters. She was featured in Bon Appetit Magazine this month, and is now the cover girl of Bullet magazine's romance issue.
The high fashion spread features Olsen donning a Nicki Minaj-esque pink wig, modeling primarily pink, gray and white designs from fashion houses ranging from Chanel to Dior.
In the interview, the 23-year old Olsen sister talks about the steps she took to ensure that he career wasn't piggybacking on the fame of her sisters.
Check out some excerpts from the interview below:
On her supportive father:
“My dad’s greatest pleasure is watching his kids do what they want to do. Nowadays, he loves going to my sisters’ fashion shows or coming to visit me on set.”
On her thought that being single is necessary to love thyself:
“It’s made me appreciate the things that I need to feel fulfilled. Sometimes, when I’m in a relationship, I get so excited to be around the other person that I forget to indulge the things that I need to be happy on a day-to-day basis. Or at least I did—I’m such a different person now than I was two years ago.”
On working hard to make a name for herself on her own:
"There’s definitely a reason why I went to so many acting conservatories. The more I trained, the less people could say, ‘Oh, she’s just so-and-so’s sister.’ They can still say that, sure—I have no control over that—but at least I know I’ve worked hard. There was definitely a time when I overcompensated, but I’m kind of over that.”
Director Josh Radnor on Elizabeth Olsen:
“You’d be surprised by how many young actors show up not knowing their lines,” he says. “Lizzie isn’t one of them. She puts a lot of thought into her characters, but she doesn’t show her homework.”
