I got to the Nokia Theater at 6:30pm, expecting to just jump on line and wait for the doors to open @ 7. But my bubble bursted when security told me I had to get on line around the corner. That’s No Problem, I say to myself. I get around the corner and security keeps directing me further and further. Next thing I know, I’m around the corner and down the block from the Nokia theater. If that isn’t a turn out, I dont know what is!
Once in, my cousin and I managed to get to the front, about 2 rows from the stage. At 8pm sharp, the New Boyz opened the show and kept us occupied with songs like ‘You’re A Jerk’, ‘Dot Com’ and ‘Tie Me Down’.
After they left the stage at 8:30- the crowd started getting restless and agitated, even chanting ‘We Want Chris, We Want Chris’!! Then the unthinkable happened. About 6 girls broke out into a fight because they wanted to get closer to the stage. I had never seen anything like it!
After an introduction from Angie martinez and Dj Enuff from Hot 97, Chris started the show. ‘I Can Transform Ya’ into ‘Wall To Wall’ with a break down in the middle to Jay’s ‘On To The Next One’.
‘Fan Appreciation Tour’ was the perfect name for this tour, because he performed songs I didnt expect him to, like ‘Ain’t No Way’, ‘Poppin’ (from his first album), ‘Help Me’ and ‘Throwed’ (from his second album):
