The nominations are in for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards and Kanye West leads the pack with an astounding 11 nominations.

MTV announced the nominees for its highly anticipated award show last night and has called all the fans to start voting for their favorite artists online.

With all the nominations announced, there are a few artists who have claimed their stake at the VMAs before the red carpet even gets rolled out.

Kanye West took the lead with 11 nominations, but pop singer Katy Perry is bound to score big with her 9 nominations.

UK singer Adele has had one of the best album selling albums this year and she picked up 7 nominations for her hit single “Rolling In The Deep.”

To our surprise, MTV didn’t bombard artists like Britney Spears or Lady Gaga with award nominations. Lady Gaga was nominated for just three awards, while Britney Spears grabbed two nominations.

Newer artists like Tyler, the Creator picked up a nomination for Video Of The Year, which Kanye West claimed earlier this year and Manchester Orchestra picked up a nod as well.

Check out the nominations list on the next few pages!
