Tower Heist was the official theme of the night inside GlobalGrind’s toast to the filmmakers of the movie at PH-D inside Dream Downtown.
All of New York City was in the building as Russell Simmons took the stage to toast, and roast, his good friend and award-winning filmmaker Brett Ratner.

Brett, who directed Tower Heist, and Brian Grazer, who produced it, walked the red carpet and sat down with Russell to discuss their film which stars Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, dropping November 4.
While inside the event, guests were kept busy with the ever-flowing Hennessy, while DJ D-Nice kept the vibe just right on the 1’s and 2’s.
Leading up to the star-studded event, Rocsi Diaz worked the red carpet, chopping it up with Russell, Nas, Gabourey Sidibe, who also stars in the film, Cuba Gooding Jr., Teyana Taylor, NBAer Brandon Jennings Brett Ratner, actor Dule Hill, VH1’s Carrie Keagan, Brian Grazer and more.
Also in the building were LaLa Anthony, Tyson Beckford who made a late-night appearance, Jonathan Cheban, Jason Binn and supermodel Flaviana Matata.

Rocsi also introduced Russell and Brett to the crowd before the two got into a discussion about the film in front of the partygoers. The two also attempted to roast one another when discussing how they actually met. Russell, a mogul in the making and Brett, a recent college grad “had models in common” according to Brett, but they eventually worked on The Nutty Professor together and have now been friends for over 20 years.
It was a real NYC night with Nas in the building and bottles of bottomless Hennessy.
