Is Usher locked in a bitter love triangle or square in this case. I’ve learned that Usher is still in love with Tameka, being controlled by his new boo Grace (who is 4 years older than Tameka) and mama is steaming mad that she’s being left no control and completely locked out of handling his new album. According to the NY Daily News:
‘Some people see it as a conflict of interest,’ says a music insider. ‘She’s still under contract with Def Jam, but Grace seems to be calling the shots behind the scenes on Usher’s album.’
Agrees another source: ‘It has complicated things tremendously. Usher has her calling the shots now. Grace has been taking calls with the big bosses at Jive regarding Usher’s CD, and the label doesn’t like it.’
That’s not all. Our insider says that Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, and Miguel aren’t exactly getting along. In fact, says the snitch, Patton is ‘mad that Grace is stepping on her toes and meddling in her management affairs.’
Now here is where it gets juicy. Usher is single and ready to mingle and the relationship with Grace is nothing more than a jump off situation. A source tells me that while Usher was on his yacht kissing on women for the paps Grace was in his room . My snitch tells me that ‘She’s a jump off just like his other current women in LA and London. It’s not a monogamous relationship and everyone in the industry knows she’s slept with a myriad of celebs and label executives.’
It seems like Usher’s true love might just be his career. I was told Usher will do anything to reach the top of the R&B charts again, but while his album is being pushed back his label is saying they just want to give him the proper set up. The Daily News reports A rep for Jive agreed, saying: ‘This is a solid album that we believe in. We want [more time] to give it a proper launch.’
