Tuesday’s here again and what better way to make the most out of the day than to find some cool activities to do. Luckily you won’t have to go much further than today’s installment of Dollars & Sense. Today, just for you, we have put together some fun things in the great city of Montclair, New Jersey that wont cost you any more than $10. Check it all out below.

Visit The Montclair Art Museum:

Montclair Art Museum is one of the coolest museums in New Jersey. Right now the “Motor Lodge: An Installation by Dan Funderburgh” is on display amongst other things. For his first museum exhibition, artist and wallpaper designer Dan Funderburgh was invited by the Montclair Art Museum to create a site-specific installation in The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation Art Stairway that would complement the exhibition Warhol and Cars: American Icons. Much like Warhol, Funderburgh is an artist who straddles the worlds of fine art and design. He is best known for his detailed configurations of utilitarian objects that form dense ornate patterns adorning such diverse media as wallpaper, luggage, furniture, high-heeled shoes, and skateboards.

It’s definitely an exhibit worth checking out for young professionals if you are in the area.

Visit The Alexander Kasser Theater:

The Alexander Kasser Theater is Montclair State University’s newest performance facility. Intimate, convenient, and with excellent acoustics, Kasser is an exciting venue for both performers and audiences. In its architecture, the 53,000 square foot theater pays tribute to the Spanish mission style of the University’s historic buildings, welcoming visitors with a sweeping plaza and broad, arcaded gallery. Once inside, theater-goers enter a 4,600 square foot lobby, distinguished by an elegant staircase to the balcony. For information on what events will going on at the theater, visit peakperfs.org

Financial Tip Of The Day

Charge It, Then Disconnect It

Some people think that leaving their charger plugged to their electronic device is giving it a better, stronger charge that will inevitably last longer. In actuality they are doing quite the opposite. Leaving you computer, phone, etc. charging drains your battery faster later on. While you have the charger in, your battery is working and the longer it works, the faster it becomes unable to stay charged for long periods of time. This is why your battery will heat up after it’s been charging for a long time. Preserve your battery and disconnect it from the charger once it has reached a full charge.
