Raf Simons officially showed his first couture show for Parisian Haute Couture week two weeks ago and it has gotten rave reviews. After replacing Galliano, Raf had big shoes to fill and everyone was pleasantly surprised to see that he was able to do so and put his own spin on it at the same damn time.

The Belgian designer took some time out to discuss what he wanted to convey with the line, as well as how he thinks the line has transitioned from what it was to what it is now under his control. Mr. Simons wanted to make clothing that would be equally as nice to look at as it was functional to wear.
“I’m not interested in just doing couture that works in magazine pictures. I want it to be relevant,” say Raf in the candid video above.
