Need to detect early breast cancer warning signs? There is no app for that, but thankfully there will soon be a bra for that.

A nifty gadget company, First Warning Systems, has developed the first “ultrasonic breast cancer detection device,” aka a rigged sports bra that can tell you if dangerous cells are growing in your tatas.

The company First Warning Systems thinks it could help resolve many of the issues with current breast cancer screening methods, by detecting tumors earlier and cutting the rate of false positives and negatives, with a new device intended to be used in conjunction with or in place of breast self-exams.

According to the company’s description, this bra uses sensors that can detect heat changes in breast tissue–a potential sign that there’s tumor activity–and then sends that info to a computer where it’s analyzed.

The bras aren’t the sexiest pieces of negligee on the market, and we aren’t sure how cleaning them would work, but with the rising cases of breast cancer, there can only be good outcomes from the integration of something tech and health friendly like this.

The bras may be in Europe in 2013, and then hit the US in 2014 after FDA approval.
