Three men were arrested Thursday in the shooting of Christopher Walker, a Milton teen who police say was killed for his gold chain in the driveway of his family’s home.

Mr. Matthew Goins, 20, of Alpharetta, Mr. Michael Grant, 23, and Mr. Richard Davidson, 20 were charged with murder, aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery.

According to the Examiner:

Mr. Davidson was also charged with possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Detectives believe Walker was shot around 7:30 P.M. that Tuesday during a struggle with a robber right outside of his home.

Capt. McCarty said Mr. Walker, an Alpharetta High School graduate, was shot once in the head and was transported to North Fulton Regional Hospital, where he died.

The site reports:

Officers believe the suspects targeted Mr. Walker because of his gold chain and followed him from an Alpharetta Taco Bell on Haynes Bridge Road to his home.

Investigators believe the suspects attempted to rob Mr. Walker, but the 19-year-old resisted. And during the struggle he was shot, Capt. McCarty said.

Thankfully to leads in the case came the Crime Stoppers tip line, and officers were able to locate the suspects based on a description of the car used in the crime.
