Oh, you only thought Rihanna and Justin Bieber were down with body art?

Nope, politicians are low-key rock stars too. You may not think that your state representative, or senator, or even president, has gone under the needle for some kick-ass tattoos, but, you’re mistaken.

In fact, it’s more common than you think. Well, kind of. I mean, there is one who is not about that life…unless his daughters do it.

But here are some that you wouldn’t expect – or even know about.

Let me school you real quick:

Jesse Jackson Jr.

The civil rights leader son (and criminal) is sporting more than that mean a** smize he has going on in this picture. The former representative gets a new tattoo every single year. Some of his favorites? His Bruce Lee art and a tattoo to honor his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi. He has so many that he’s almost finished with his two arm sleeves. But I guess the rest will be done behind bars. I’ve heard the tattoo artists are amazing.

Duncan Hunter

The California Republican representative isn’t shy about his tattoos either. Just like Jackson, he has two half-sleeves complete. A former Marine, he said he started getting tattooed at the beginning of each deployment. And, it’s a tradition he does with his brother. Now how cute is that?

Caroline Kennedy

We already knew the Kennedy crew had a wild streak in them, but not sweet Caroline! Turns out back in the ’80’s Caroline and her cousin Kara spontaneously got tatted in Hong Kong. If you look really closely, you can see the small butterfly she got tatted near the inside of her elbow. Looks like she regretted that decision though, because she’s in the process of getting it removed. YOLO!

Mary Bono Mack

She looks like a lot of fun! Rep. Mary Bono Mack is proving that tattoos and politics aren’t an “all boys club.” First of all, she was the only female member of the caucus. And she’s not afraid of a little pain. After the 9/11 attacks, Mack got a cross tattooed on her to reflect her strong faith. No word where the little work of art is on her body, however.

Allen West

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is also into sleeves. He has an eagle tattoo and airborne wings on his arms, and he also has some other little pieces of art that he’s been mum about. Looks like politicians do stick with political artwork.

And here’s one more to show you that politicians BEEN TRILL!

Remember our 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt? He had a huge family crest tatted on his chest. Now that’s dope!
