<p>Janet Jackson is headlining more than box office features&nbsp;like ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?’ and ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf’. According to Essence, Jackson has just signed on to co-headline their annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, LA !</p><p>Joining previously announced headliners Mary J. Blige and Alicia Keys, Jackson will play the New Orleans Superdome&nbsp;Friday, July 2, 2010.</p><p>Alicia Keys, Arrested Development, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, DJ Soul Sister, Estelle, Hot 8 Brass Band, Irma Thomas, Irvin Mayfield and NOJO, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers, Lalah Hathaway, Leo Jackson and the Melody Clouds, Little Freddie King, LL Cool J, Mary J. Blige, Mary Mary, Mint Condition, Monica, Rebirth Brass Band, Ruben Studdard, Sam &amp; Ruby, Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs, Soul Rebels Brass Band, Trey Songz and WAR are also due to perform during the three day festival, which also features&nbsp;empowering workshops related to health, beauty, and community.</p><p>Tickets for this year’s Essence Music Festival are currently on sale via essence.com/festival, where additional information can be found regarding other events taking place over the weekend.</p><p>Jackson follows previous headliners and acts Beyonce, Ne-Yo, Maxwell,&nbsp; and Anita Baker, who all took the stage at the 2009 edition of Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana.</p>
