Lady Gaga is all about shock-value, but according to her business people, stripping down for Playboy may actually offend her fans. It’s strange to think that a woman who probably manages to scare, shock or offend 10 people before breakfast each morning could possibly lose the support of some of her fans with just a little nudity. However, according to an inside source, the “Paparazzi” singer’s friends and business people feel posing for Playboy “could be seen as being a bit lowbrow and cheesy, and will alienate her fans who like her edgy appeal.”

The source also stated Gaga thinks posing will be a positive for her image. ‘She’s always looking to grow as an artist. She doesn’t think there’s anything distasteful about it. She sees it as just another form of expression. She’s been chatting with everyone about it all week. She’s always been a fan of Hugh Hefner’s, and his whole sex-as-art kind of thing.”

Should Lady Gaga Pose For Playboy?Market Research

In other Lady Gaga’s news, her “Alejandro” video was released today. In true, Lady Gaga-fashion, the video is as controversial, as it is artistic. Paying homage to pop icons of old, she reinvents Madonna’s cone-shaped boustier from “Vogue” – replacing the cones for machine guns (of course) – and draws inspiration from Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation” with androgynous men dancig robotically in the video’s opening scene.

Directed by fashion photographer, Steven Klein, “Alejandro” is guaranteed to incite all kinds of controversy. Not only does Gaga appear in the video dressed as a nun who has just engaged in some sort of fetish-filled, sexual act with a man wearing high heels, but she also swallows a set of rosary beads. She then goes on to writhe around on the floor with even more gender-bending men with bowl cuts, dressed as the Pope with a cross over her crotch.

If we listen closely, we can probably hear an enraged soccer mom writing a letter to every music video station known to man, demanding this video be shelved for all eternity.

Much like Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” video that inspired Gaga’s latest video, “Alejandro” isn’t likely to get aired on TV. However, if Lady Gaga follows Madonna’s footsteps a step further, and sells copies of the controversial video, she’s guaranteed to make a huge profit.
