Zoe Saldana, she’s just like us. She has a hankering for Italian food and sometimes she just gets too lazy to go to the gym.
Except she still manages to look incredible after letting herself go for a year – her words, not ours – because we definitely couldn’t tell by the way she looks in that Alexander McQueen dress on the cover of Net-A-Porter’s The Edit.
Inside the online magazine, Zoe admits that she’s been craving foods like “Chinese, pasta, rice, beans” more than she’s had the desire to work out, saying:
“I’ve been an active person my whole life,” says Saldana. “The past year has been the only time in my life that I haven’t been to the gym. I’ve been lazy instead of training for something and pushing myself….not because I am trying to be skinny. I just like to know how much endurance I have. But this past year I’ve let myself go.”

Although she hasn’t spent much time in the gym, the 35-year-old actress has been quite busy when it comes to career. As of late, she’s in Paris, where Net-A-Porter caught up with her while filming a remake of Rosemary’s Baby for the production company she runs with her sisters. But before that, she was on location for five months in England, filming Guardians of the Galaxy.
Despite Zoe’s busy schedule, she managed to sneak away and marry her husband Marco Perego in a private ceremony, telling Net-A-Porter, “I’m not a private person, but I am discreet, so it felt right.”
Another thing she’s being private about is her role as Nina Simone in the upcoming biopic, Nina:
“It was painful,” she says quietly of the project, in which she also sings. “It’s still hard for me to talk about it, because it’s not finished yet.”
