Meek Mill may have a big wallet and big chains, but he’s got a pretty big heart, too. The rapper’s found fame and fortune as he’s risen to the top of hip-hop charts, but it’s his charitable nature that makes us really love this emcee.
Last week, a young woman named Gillian Chrisphonte, who’s battling Lymphoma, started a fundraiser on GoFundMe.com to help with the cost of her medical bills. After being diagnosed in November 2013 and going through rounds of chemotherapy, she says she and her parents have been having a tough time keeping up with the treatment costs, setting an initial fundraising goal of $12,000.
After learning about Gillian’s fight with the serious form of cancer, Meek and Robin Hood, the popular charity organization, donated an undisclosed amount of money to her fundraiser, helping her exceed her goal while spreading the word by posting it on his Instagram.
He captioned the photo:
I went 2 the link & I Didn’t even have 2 it’s enough good people out here #godblessher #fuckcancer her dream is way more worth than our money!
That’s the spirit, Meek.
