The time couldn’t be better.

In the wake of the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown over racial injustice and violence, John Legend and Common collaborate for their latest track “Glory,” featured in the upcoming film Selma.

Delivering a sense of hope, John Legend lends his strong soulful vocals to the chorus, while Common raps, “That’s why Rosa sat on the bus/ That’s why we walk through Ferguson with our hands up/ When they go down we woman and man up/ They say, ‘Stay Down’, and we stand.”

Selma is a historical drama directed by Ava DuVernay based on the 1965 MLK-led Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches starring Oprah Winfrey and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Take a listen to the new collaborative track below from John Legend and Common and be sure to check out Selma in theaters December 25.
