Kanye West was the most mentioned person on Twitter last night, and for good reason.

In true Kanye fashion, the outspoken rapper crashed the Grammy stage when Morning Phase singer Beck won “Album Of The Year” over good friend Beyonce’s critically acclaimed self-titled album.

Although Kanye trolled the world by walking up on stage, the “Only One” rapper wasn’t joking about Beyonce “deserving” the award. In a post-show interview with E! Network, Kanye explained why he decided to crash the stage when Beck went up to accept his award.

“If they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. “Flawless” Beyoncé video….and Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé, and at this point we tired of it!. Because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music.

It’s disrespectful to inspiration, and we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work everyday….and listen to Beyoncé and they feel like it takes them to another place. Then they do this whole promotional event, and they’ll run the music over somebody’s speech, an artist, because they want a commercial advertising. No, we not playing with them no more.”

Kanye also explained why he opted for a silent protest instead of grabbing the mic from Beck.

“And by the way, I got my wife, I got my daughter, and my clothing line, so I’m not gonna do nothing to put my daughter at risk. But I am here to fight for creativity, that’s the reason I didn’t say anything tonight.”

Kanye also went on a rant about E! Network’s shameless promotion, their ugly mic sleeves, how beautiful his wife Kim is, and being “drunk in love.”

Beck also spoke with the media about Kanye’s slight, and surprisingly, he was quite amused by the whole situation.

“I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?”

He also thought Beyonce was going to nab the coveted “Album Of The Year” award.

“I thought she was going to win. Come on, she’s Beyonce!”

We’re glad Beck was such a good sport about the situation. And now we know who the president of the #BeyHive is – Kanye West.

In other Kanye news, the 37-year-old rapper announced he will be executive producing Rihanna’s eighth studio album. He’s also reportedly executive producing Tyga’s long-delayed album.
