Angela Bassett Joins the ‘Green Lantern’ Cast
<p><p>The extremely talented Angela Bassett, whom I believe should have had the role of Storm in the X-Men series, will make her comicbook-adaptation debut next year in "Green Lantern".</p><p>According to Variety, the "Waiting To Exhale" actress will play government agent Dr. Amanda Waller. </p></p><p>Bassett joins a cast that features Ryan Reynolds in the title role as the DC comics hero, Blake Lively as love interest Carol Ferris, Peter Saarsgaard as the villainous Dr. Hector Hammond and Mark Strong as alien rival Sinestro.</p><p><p>We’re not sure if she’ll be doing any ass kicking ala ‘Ike and Tina’, but it will be good to see her face associated with a potentially high-grossing film again. </p><p>Green Lantern is slated to be released June 17, 2011</p></p>
