Just days after Cheryl Lynn Hall was found strangled with the cord from an iron in 1981, investigators zeroed in on a friend, Larry Galloway, as a suspect.Police even told Hall’s family that they suspected Galloway was the killer, but they couldn’t prove it. They promised they would. The family waited and grieved. But it took 27 years — and a meal at Chili’s — for Galloway to finally be charged.
