Leonardo DiCaprio’s 1 million dollar gift!

DiCaprio is donating one million dollars towards tiger preservation.  Other tiger lovers who are also lending their celebrity status to the cause are Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford, Robert Duvall and many others.

Tiger hunting is illegal and many countries have tiger sanctuaries to protect this endangered animal.  But poachers still manage to invade protected habitats to capture and kill these majestic beings.  More needs to be done to save these big cats.  So, Kudos to L.D. for putting his money where his heart is to save the tigers.

DiCaprio had this to say about the extinction of tigers: ‘Illegal poaching of tigers for their parts and massive habitat loss due to palm oil, timber and paper production are driving this species to extinction. By saving tigers, we can also protect some of our last remaining ancient forests and improve the lives of indigenous communities.’
