Kim Kardashian spent the morning shedding tears while chatting with her sister Kourtney before hitting the streets with her girlfriends for a night of fun. Kim then sent a twitpic using the term Big Pimpin with her girlfriends, Lala, Kelly Rowland, and Serena. Maybe this tweet was her way of getting over her heartbreak from dealing with Reggie Bush, but Demi Moore got totally offended by the use of the word PIMPIN.
Daily Mail reports: Demi disapproved of Kardashian’s choice of word and asked her: ‘Are you using the word ‘pimpin’ as in pimping?’, to which Kardashian replied: ‘Doesn’t everyone? LOL.’ Demi then replied: ‘No disrespect I love a girls night out but a pimp and pimping is nothing more than a slave owner!’
One of Demi’s followers suggested that Kardashian probably used the term in a young, ‘cool’ way.
But Demi, who has herself come under fire from feminists for her role in Indecent Proposal and Striptease, was undeterred in her crusade and said people needed to stop ‘glorifying the pimp culture’.
Kim Kardashian then went on to explain she was simply dancing to Jay-Z’s hit song and Demi continued to attempt to prove her point. In my opinion words are like people, in the way that they change. When DMC said ‘Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good’ that line forever changed the word bad. So now when we say ‘My Chick Bad’ we know this is praise which simply means my bust-it baby does thing that most chick wish they could. I think people take words too literally. With that said I do get what Demi is trying to say.
