Kim Kardashian is a self proclaimed ‘hopeless romantic.’ So it’s no surprise that when asked what’s the biggest issue of today’s generation she stated that ‘old fashion love is hard to come by these days.’ Kim explains ‘Too much communication… no more sweet letters and cards, it’s all e-mails and texting, so impersonal. I do know that life was definitely more simple even when I was growing up. No cell phones, myspace, facebook. Seems like monogamy is an issue.’

I totally agree with Kim Kardashian. The more I read her statement the more I think, the queen of branding has a very valid point. With so many ways to stay connected to the people we love, it doesn’t leave time for us to miss each other. Also with things like internet dating, old school love is quickly dying. When you seriously think about how smart phones allow us to witness every little aspects of each other’s lives, it’s clear that our parents, older brothers and sisters didn’t have to go through this so who can we turn to for advice?

When a girlfriend updates her facebook status, her boyfriend can read it, when a husband uploads pictures from guy’s night out, the wife is there to see all that went on. There is no mystery, no time to say, I miss my baby. Technology allows us to be contacted at the whim of lonely lovers, and that might not have been as great of an idea as we originally thought.
