During their meeting to discuss the Voting Rights Act, Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama allegedly promised Rev. Al Sharpton that despite the Supreme Court ruling to strike down a part of the Voting Rights Act, they will continue to have the federal government enforce every citizen’s voting rights
He also added about their meeting:

The part of the Voting Rights Act that was struck down by the Supreme Court requires some states to have their voting laws cleared by the federal government. Since this ruling, millions of Americans have feared that their voting rights could be in jeopardy
