Well this is interesting…

A Starbucks in the Sandy Hook neighborhood is closing early today in solidarity with victims of the school shooting as gun advocates  plan to hold a rally at the coffee shop.

The event is part of a Starbucks Appreciation Day arranged by gun advocates in celebration of the coffee chain’s policy on allowing customers to bring weapons into the store.

Mmm… okay.

David Ackert, of Newtown Action Alliance is not fond of the idea at all. He says:

‘Our community is still healing and we find it reprehensible that they are picking Newtown to rally,’

Adding:

‘It is disturbing to think that tomorrow night you and your children may be sitting in Starbucks when people carrying guns walk through the door,’

Starbuck released a statement on their decision, saying:

Dear Customers,

At Starbucks we are proud that our stores serve as gathering places for thousands of communities across the country and we appreciate that our customers share diverse points of view on issues that matter to them. We also believe in being sensitive to each community we serve.

Meanwhile a Starbucks Appreciation Day Facebook has been created, showing load of pictures from customers flaunting their coffee and weaponry. Lawd jeezus.

Say a prayer and couple of the photos below!
