We geared up for spring and summer trends and we prepped and pampered our skin for the beauty iconic must haves and must dos. This fall, we are going to do autumn makeup taken directly from the runway to your local streets; like indulging in dark raisin-toned lips that create a presence. While the scarlets were fun, the huge twist that took people back during New York Fashion Week for this fall are bold greens and bright blues.

When it comes to incorporating these colors into your makeup routine, our hair color plays a major role in what color will work well, especially when it comes to these deep pigmented wine-toned lips, bold greens, bright blues, and of course, metallic texture. As we know, not all shades are created equal. Dodge a fashion fail by following this list to rocking the colors that are trending this autumn/winter 2013-14 based on your hair color.

Take a look at the pointers below.

Red heads: Achieve the hot trend of metallic eye shadows with Ellis Faas liquid color that gives a shiny texture without the wet and stickiness on the eyelids, and best of all it will NOT crease! Apply the bronze from lid to slightly above the crease and add a highlight that is closest to your complexion. This will give the bold runway look without being too intense. Achieve deep raisin-toned lips either by applying it with a lip liner with gloss on top, like with  “Morning Coffee” or with “Viva Glam IV” from M.A.C.

Blondes: Estee Lauder’s trio of silvery blues can be easily tensed by a base for long wear and deeper pigment. As we mentioned, blues are trending and you can use this trio alone or layer it with other shadows in your makeup kit. When using this trio, apply the medium shade in the crease and deeper color from the lash line and blend up.

For drama, either use the lightest color all over your lid or the deeper color (controlled by blending and balancing it with a highlighter). When rocking blue eyes, keep your lips balanced by applying a sheer or bare lip.

Brunettes: Oh, the flexibility! This model walked down the runway and her makeup alone grabs the attention. The glossy affect from metallic eye shadows is hot for fall! This glamorous look of orangey shadow with a hint of reddish brown pressed into the crease and blended downward towards the lash-line gives vibrant awes, but with a sophisticated finish.

To achieve this look, use Nars duo eye shadow “Mediteranee.” Apply a lip stain, another trend that was also big during NYFW, and throughout the day, touch up the stain with a gloss to keep the texture looking moist.

For the overall face, keep it like-skin and soft contours. Allow the vibrant lips and dramatic eye colors to pull the attention to your fresh new look for autumn/winter 2013-14.

Now, go and enjoy the beauty of fall!
