As America tries to forget Miley Cyrus’ pelvic-thrusting MTV VMA performance, she’s still reminding us of how amazing it was (or wasn’t depending on who you ask).
In an exclusive interview with her enablers (MTV), Miley Cyrus finally broke her silence about her VMA performance, stating:
“How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? Madonna’s done it. Britney’s done it. Every VMA performance, that’s what you’re looking for; you’re wanting to make history… Me and Robin [Thicke] the whole time said, ‘You know we’re about to make history right now. What’s amazing is I think now, we’re three days later and people are still talking about it. They’re over thinking it. You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn’t even think about it ’cause that’s just me.”
While Miley is resting her laurels (for now at least), she’s been in the studio finishing up her forthcoming album, Bangerz, which is due out later on this year.
Did Miley’s performance make it into MTV VMA history? We say yes, but share your thoughts below.
