At least 83 people are dead after the Syrian government launched an aerial bombardment in Aleppo that targeted opposition to President Bashar al-Assad. According to the Local Coordination Committees, an opposition group, at least 27 children and eight women were among the dead. They also reported that 50 more people had sustained injuries in the bombardments. Helicopters dropped barrel bombs on 12 neighborhoods that strongly back rebels opposing the government in the city. Not everyone can get away with what Fox News’ Megyn Kelly did. A teacher in New Mexico has been disciplined after a parent says the man told his black son Santa Claus is white. Michael Rougier told KOB-TV his ninth-grade son, Christopher, arrived wearing a Santa hat and beard, and the teacher asked the boy: “Don’t you know Santa Clause is white? Looks like Colorado has a renegade sheriff on their hands. Sheriff John Cooke of Weld County is refusing to enforce a new package of gun laws enacted this year after the mass shootings in Aurora and Newton, Conn., saying that they are too vague and violate Second Amendment rights. The new laws mandate background checks for private gun transfers and outlaw magazines over 15 rounds, but Cooke isn’t having it. Two groups in Stockholm — neo-Nazis and an anti-racist group — were involved in a clash on Sunday that led to 28 arrests. A group of 40 far-right extremists threw stones, bottles and fireworks at a group of 200 people holding an organized, legal demonstration to oppose racism and growing neo-Nazi sentiment in the area.
