A new video of a woman, who appears to be on some sort of substance while nodding off on a public bus, has surfaced and it breaks our hearts.
The more disturbing part of the video is the fact that her young daughter, who is only 7-years-old, is trying to wake her up.
As someone catches the entire ordeal, we’re able to see passengers on the bus who are horrified to see a little girl asking her mommy to wake up.
The mother looks like she may be losing consciousness, and the footage has sparked an official police investigation.
DHS Commissioner is shocked by the video, but more shocked that no one did anything to help. She told NBC 10:
“While it is helpful that so many people emailed and called us after viewing the video, there were many people on the bus who witnessed this as it was occurring and took no action at all. Child abuse is a community problem, if you see or know that a child is being abused or neglected, you should report it immediately. We don’t want people to engage because you don’t know what’s going on here. But we’d prefer you to call 911 or stop the operator of the vehicle.’
