Fifty members of Senate are urging the NFL to press the Washington Washington Football Team into changing their name. The letter comes on the heels of Donald Sterling, owner of the LA Clippers, racists comments. “The N.F.L. can no longer ignore this and perpetuate the use of this name as anything but what it is: a racial slur,” said the letter, which was circulated by Senator Maria Cantwell, Democrat of Washington, and endorsed by Senator Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada, the majority leader. “We urge the N.F.L. to formally support a name change for the Washington football team.” Read about it here…[NYT]

Up to 5,000 people may have been exposed to hepatitis A at a Missouri Red Robin restaurant, health officials say. The Springfield-Greene County Health Department announced Wednesday that a Red Robin restaurant reported that a worker had the liver disease. A college freshman who was outed as the star of a “casting couch” porn video has committed suicide. Alyssa Funke, a student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, was taunted on Facebook and Twitter after a video of her surfaced on the amateur porn site CastingCouch-X.
