Lifetime Casts New Aaliyah, Adds Wendy Williams As Executive Producer (DETAILS)
Looks like the Lifetime biopic on the life of Aaliyah is still on. Wendy Williams just announced that she will join Debra Martin Chase as executive producer.
She also announced the film’s new star on Twitter:
I’m excited to exec produce the Aaliyah @lifetimetv movie w/ @DebraMChase. Prod starts later this month and @AlexShipppp will play Aaliyah.

Newcomer Alexandra Shipp will replace Zendaya as the lead. The actress also shared some behind-the-scenes Instagram pics from another film she’s working on, VH1’s Drumline 2.
