The jury that will determine whether or not the killing of Michael Brown was a crime is predominantly white, according to the St. Louis Dispatch.

The site reports that the grand jury consists of six white men and three white women, with the the remainder of the jury consisting of just 3 black people, one man and two women. As we all know, this case has already accumulated worldwide attention due to the blatant racial discrimination connected to Michael Brown’s killing as well as the Ferguson protests.

Deliberations in the courthouse began this past wednesday; The jury will decide if a crime has been committed and whether there is credible evidence proving the defendant intended to do it. If the jury decides the shooting was a crime, it can then issue an indictment, formally charging the defendant Officer Darren Wilson.

Michael Brown was fatally shot multiple times by Wilson, a white police officer, on August 9th. Since then, nationwide protesting have ensued, as we all seek justice for the unarmed teenager.
