Amanda Bynes just got some news she’s not going to like one bit. The troubled star may have to stay in a mental facility for up to a year and it won’t be because of her parents.
TMZ reports that Amanda is headed for another conservatorship, but this one is coming from her doctors, who are planning to keep her confined and on medication for up to one year.
The plan is to get an LPS Hold — something a judge will grant at the behest of doctors but only if the patient is “gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder or impairment by chronic alcoholism.”
The LPS Hold allows doctors to confine Amanda — at either the hospital or another secure facility — and administer meds against her will.
The LPS hold gives the doctors the ability to do more than her parents would be able to do for Amanda. Her parents wouldn’t be able to keep her confined or medicated. Plus according to the site, the former child star now hates her parents because they tricked her into going into the mental facility.
The docs will request the hold next week after Amanda is fully diagnosed. Let’s hope this will finally help Ms. Bynes.
