The Daily Grind Video

Guys. Being a girl is so damn awesome.

And not that we didn’t know that, but when we watched this Chevrolet ad featuring 13-year-old Mo’ne Davis — the first female pitcher to win a game at the Little League World Series — we seriously cried all the tears of joy.

Because when she said this in her one-minute verbal letter to the United States:

“I throw 70 miles per hour. That’s throwing like a girl!”

We realized yet again…girls f*cking rock.

The commercial, directed by Spike Lee, premiered during Game 1 of the MLB World Series on Tuesday. And just to be clear, appearing in the commercial was less of an endorsement and more so inspiration for others to follow their dreams (because if Mo’ne’s summer is any indication, they can come true).

“Dear United States of America, I am 13 years old. This summer was the best summer of my young life…I have a passion. Every day of the week, I’m playing soccer, basketball or baseball. I stand for girls who want to play sports with the boys and to be a role model for people, young and old,” she said.

In a statement, NCAA spokeswoman Emily James confirmed that the ad will not affect Mo’ne’s amateur status for college sports in the future.

So with that pesky question out of the way, watch the mini-feminist above and try not to shed a tear for the awesomeness that occurs.
