Two years ago, 18-year-old Ramarley Graham was fatally shot by an NYPD officer in his grandmother’s bathroom. An unarmed Graham was chased down by the cop, who suspected the teen of participating in a drug deal.

Now, the Grahams have agreed to a $3.9 million settlement in their wrongful death lawsuit against NYC. Gawker reports:

Graham’s estate, the Daily News reports, will receive $2.95 million. His mother, Constance Malcolm, will receive $40,000. His brother and grandmother, Patricia Hartley, will receive $500,000 and $450,000, respectively.

Ramarley’s grandmother stated in the lawsuit that the police officer, Richard Haste, threatened to shoot her as well during the scene.

Manhattan’s U.S Attorney Preet Bharara is still pursuing the civil rights violation portion of this case. Justice for Ramarley!
