La Familia clearly doesn’t have the same meaning to TIDAL execs as it does to Jay Z.

Today we learned CEO Peter Tonstad has fled the scene that is the troubled TIDAL streaming service. Tonstad was hired in April to replace Andy Chen, the other CEO who already left the Jay Z-helmed company (yeah, this is real life).

TIDAL is downplaying the departure, which is typical of the streaming platform’s PR strategy.

From Variety:

News of Tonstad’s resignation was first reported by Northern European news outlets. The company has since confirmed these reports, describing his role as the company as interim CEO and saying that it will be “transitioning to a permanent CEO as part of our strategic plan to create a leading platform.”

Sounds like something else is going on. Let’s wait for Jay to clear up the rumors on Twitter in 5, 4, 3, 2…
