Ahh, the good ol’ days.
Over the weekend, Kanye West resurrected 808s & Heartbreak at the Hollywood Bowl, and it was as epic it sounds. Despite a technical glitch and another minor fit from ‘Ye, we couldn’t help but reminisce on the 808s era and all that’s changed since.
There’s no doubt the album broke new ground in hip-hop and opened the door for artists such as Drake and The Weeknd. But as Kanye gave new life to his classic tracks, one thing he chose not to dip back into was his ’08 fashion sense.
Before there was Yeezy Season 1 or 2, Kanye’s closet consisted of more than just black and brown. He hadn’t quite let go of the backpack, and was known to rock the occasional button-up or cardigan. Oh, and remember his crazy assortment of shades?
In honor of this weekend’s performance (and Man Crush Monday), we’ll take you down memory lane by reliving Kanye’s most memorable fashion moments during the 808s era.
