While Back To The Future got its fair share of predictions wrong, its fashion forward wardrobe was actually pretty on point.

After years of anticipation, Nike just confirmed that self-lacing kicks are real and the first pair will go to the film’s star Michael J. Fox. But this isn’t the first time the 1989 movie’s style has resurfaced in 2015. It’s no secret that the fashion world loves a good blast from the past when it comes to introducing “new trends,” and a number of today’s most popular looks were also rocked by Marty McFly.

Still, some of the wacky trends predicted in Back To The Future‘s 2015 have not come true and that’s probably for the best.

After today, BTTF will take place entirely in the past, but these trends will continue to live on. Keep scrolling for nine 2015 style trends accurately portrayed in the film.
