Fast food is great for hangovers, but what if you could get drunk AND eat burgers at the same damn time?
The Burger King gods have heard you and are answering your cholesterol-filled prayers. The chain plans to sell American beers in plastic bottles starting this month at four of its UK locations.
Burger King’s foray into booze is nothing new- it currently serves alcohol at its Whopper Bars, some of which are in the U.S. If the UK alcohol permits go through successfully, Burger King will be able to sell beer from 10am to 11pm everyday, the Independent reports. A Burger King spokeswoman said, “We’re just catching up with the rest of the world really. It’ll probably be an American beer to fall in line with the brand.”
Burger King’s (golden) arch nemesis McDonald’s serves up cold brews at some of its European spots. But McDonald’s took to its UK site to take a few subtle shots at Burger King, saying, “It isn’t something that we have experienced customer demand for or something that fits with the family-friendly focus of our restaurants in the UK.”
It’s safe to say that in a few years when fast-food and alcohol delivery become a thing, introverts may never have to leave their homes again.
