Music is like a deck of playing cards; every now and then you get a king!

And in just four years, Justin Bieber has already gone from teen heartthrob to the King of Hip-Pop! You question that?

DETAILS: Say Word?! Justin Bieber’s Believe Tour Sells Out In Record Time!

Bieber encapsulates the essence of what Hip-Pop is, which is having the two sequestered worlds of hip-hop and pop come together. A music enthusiast can look at Hip-Pop as hip-hop that’s pop and pop that’s hip-hop, either/or. Biebs is a prime example of the latter category.

Now, Bieber isn’t the first “Justin” to be considered Hip-Pop. After all, there was Timberlake, but JB has never been that pop to begin with. Unlike his “Justin” predecessor, he’s never had a machine like Disney behind him that’s been responsible for churning out the most notable pop acts like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, and his own pop princess Selena Gomez. Nor was he part of a boy band, something so pop, you can practically taste the bubble gum.

He made his own original path – the Hip-Pop way! This way included becoming protégé to Usher, linking up with various rappers, and even becoming a bit of a rapper himself. The kid got skills; he goes HAM. Recently, he passed out after a concert in Paris, and allegedly let a paparazzo know he ain’t no punk. I’m thinking his Money Team homies 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. must have rubbed off on him. When you’re around an individual like Fifty who was shot nine times, and is definitely hip-hop, and Mayweather who brings an element of hip-hop to the sport of boxing, you’re bound to have the kind of hubris other pop stars can’t fathom. So why can’t Justin Bieber be the King of Hip-Pop dammit!?

Remember when I said music is like a deck of playing cards, every now and then you get a king?

BLOG: The Transition Of Justin Bieber & The Effects Of Teenage Stardom!

Well, there was the King of Blues B.B. King, the King of Soul James Brown, the King of Rock Elvis Presley, the King of Pop Michael Jackson, and not too long ago, Eminem was crowned the King of Hip-Hop by Rolling Stone, so I think it’s time for a new King to emerge from the deck. And Justin Bieber is that new king, the King of Hip-Pop!

The guy is multi-talented, good looking, hard-working, has hella swag, and is embraced by both the Hot 97 demographic and 92.3 Now demographics.

Not just that, but he has a male audience too. You can’t hate on Bieber because his sh*t is good! You and your girl could sing that “Baby” all day long, don’t front.

And just like those other Kings I’ve mentioned, Biebs has achieved greatness. The only difference is, he’s probably done it in a shorter amount of time. But with over 22,000,000 Twitter followers, a Facebook with 43,000,000 + likes, and almost 1,500,000 YouTube subscribers…greatness can happen in seconds.

Also, if you were wondering about Justin’s Believe dropping June 19th, it definitely sounds like a Hip-Pop album made for a Hip-Pop King.

Kanye West has blessed the album, and there are features from hip-hop’s LudacrisBig SeanDrake and Nicki Minaj.

Point blank, if you think Justin Bieber isn’t the King of Hip-Pop, pick a card, any card. Oh! You got a Joker!
